This has probably already been done before, but I found this to be a cheap and useful mod for an MPU. These 3 digit displays are available on Ebay for $3-$5 each, and gives you a quick check of your voltages in case you need to do some troubleshooting. I think will start putting them on all my games!

    I like that.

Best to mount them on the wiring harness not the boards themselves. But I'm guilty of doing that too.

Yeah, wasn't quite sure the best way to mount them. I ended up using some quick set epoxy and adhering the 2 displays to a thin piece of cardboard, then using double-stick to affix to the mpu on a flat spot w/ no components. I should be able to remove easily if/when I ever need to.

I do this to boards that do voltage regulation. Seems to help them sell.

If you do it on the wiring harness just solder the wires to the connector pins and push them back into the connector housing. These displays often have little wings with holes. Use nylon ties to secure them to the wiring harness.
