It turned out perfect, I still need to dress the edges. But they are basically perfect minus a burr. There is a curve in them due to the way the material was shipped but I used it to my advantage. When these are screwed down they should lay flat. I'm still separating them from the base material that I bonded them to use in the machine

So to avoid even more work and polishing I ran them at a 45° angle and oriented them topside up. I had enough material to make 6, so that's more than I'll ever need.
Quoted from sparky672:And...? How did it turn out? Edge finish, performance, flatness, etc? Share your trials & tribulations.
I know when I made mine, I had to do some manual manipulations to get it perfectly flat, since the stock ships in a tightly wound coil.
FWIW, if you rotate your pattern the long way, you can nest them and get more flaps with less waste material.
Quoted from sparky672:As per our private messages, I already know we got the same material from the same place. You can easily get that to lay as flat as the original. I used a rounded edge, like a soft table edge and pulled it over that edge multiple times with varying amounts of force. This material will take a lot of bending without kinking as long as you are methodical.
I used a 120 or 200 grit sanding block perpendicular the edges to remove the bur, and hit the whole surface with 800 grit sandpaper. I got a brushed finish that was very similar to the original. If it looks too dull, just go up to 1000 or 1500 grit, or use a super fine steel wool, but I don't think a mirrored finish is appropriate.
I honestly haven't gotten that far yet, I literally got these off the machine 3hrs ago I just finished separating them in the acetone bath, and cleaning the glue off. I'll monkey with them a little later tho.
