Here is my understanding:

-It was never "Ben's game". It was always "a Jpop game".

-Ben was the inspiration (as a evil scientist) and still remains

-Jpop asked for opinions on his site, almost everyone felt it was confusing to have Ben's name over the title, but no one had issues with him on the art.

-Name was changed to something more fitting.
