I have had several different VR headsets over the last few years, going all of the way back to the DK2. I currently run a Valve Index, which overall is the best headset I have used. The only real gripe I have with it is the glare/god rays on the lenses that are worse than any other headset I have used. It doesn't bother me too bad in a lot of games, but it does bother me when I am sim racing, which is what I use my headset more for than anything.

I did pick up a Quest 2 out of curiosity a few weeks ago and have been very impressed with it. Out of the box it isn't terribly comfortable, but with a couple of cheap add-ons, it is much better now. The clarity of the Quest 2 is really good and I have been impressed with the handful of titles I have been running natively on it. The main reason I picked it up was to test out the wireless airlink tech and see how well it works. I have to say I am very impressed with it and how well it works, at least on my network. There are some fiddly things you have to do to get some SteamVR games to work (HL Alyx being one of them) but it isn't too bad once you figure it out. I am not sure it will replace my Index, but man, the convenience of no wires is pretty hard to beat. It is nice b/c I can use my headset for room scale games in my living room, while my gaming PC is in my much smaller office. Something I can't do with my Index.

All of that said, has anybody else tried out Demeo yet? I had a 25% off coupon for the Oculus store so I picked it up the other day and it is super fun. Really replicates that boardgame/rpg experience of playing with friends.

Yeah the speakers blow, but I knew that going in as I had a Rift S for a while. The Index is still my favorite for sound as it still allows me to hear sounds in the room if I need to but also sounds amazing. The Q2 speakers are passable enough for most games I play except maybe HL:Alyx or Beat Saber or other rhythm games. For those just plug in some ear buds and it sounds great.

Quoted from epthegeek:

../blows the dust off the thread
I feel like this thread hasn't talked about Walkabout Mini Golf enough. Anybody that has VR, or is VR curious should try this game. It's the best introduction to VR gaming I've found. Doesn't matter if people already have a gaming background or not. Standing on a mini-golf course looking around is an instantly relatable experience. It doesn't require any dramatic physical movements or complex controls. On top of that it's a fantastic social game. Even though you're just a floating head and a hand, hanging out with friends while you shoot a round is a really enjoyable time.
The 'base' game set of 8 full 18 hole courses, each one in a unique setting - all with 'hard' variations (so really 16 courses) is complete now, and the game is only $15! They're moving on to DLC to continue to add courses, too, if you're cool with that sort of thing there will be even more to enjoy.

Agreed. Walkabout MG is by far my favorite VR experience outside of HAlf Life Alyx.

Racing in VR is awesome. I don't have the PSV2, but have done it a lot on PC. I went back to triple screens as I couldn't keep buying the new video cards to chase performance in racing sims. Hope to go back to it someday.
