Heres a link for Fren's Awesome Star Trek Pro
    table running on my Cab

    #705 8 years ago

    that looks awesome.

i gotta get vp10 working in my cab...i'm scared to try and set it up...lol.

    #706 8 years ago

Setup VP10 in own directory with its on tables under Windows\programs etc. Vpinmame stays where it is now and keep putting the Roms in the old directory. Just make sure you put the VBS files in the VP 10 tables directory in its own directory and you should be good to go! Do it, so many cool tables coming out now that play and look great.

i tried installing it a week or so ago...it never worked so i gave up on it for a while and just enjoyed playing the vp9 stuff...but i REALLY want to try the new star trek and american horror tables.

i have it in a separate folder, not in my program files. tables are in their separate folder. i can't get it to work though...always gives me the "vpinball cannot open a file of this version" error, then shuts vp10 down.

    i'm obviously doing something wrong.

my table files don't have the little pinball icon either...just a white page icon.

    any ideas?

Thanks Pudluther. I know what you mean. i didnt know anything about getting tables running. I owe my to success to AllKnowing2012. He's Awesome. He helped me get things going and taught me how to run the VP Software. Hes a wizard at this stuff..
    Thanks again AllKnowing

Move your VP 10 folder under program files. Unzip the latest vpinballX excutable and other dlls into the VP 10 folder. Unzip the VBS file into its own directory under the VP 10 folder. (Looks like you already did that, cool)

Launch vpinballX.exe from there, it should work fine.

    #710 8 years ago

Here are some pics of my directory with VP10 if it helps.

You also need to download VPinmame SAM/PINDMD from vpuniverse to run SAM tables like Star Trek. You can see how here:

    thanks, man.

that got the tables loading with no problem...appreciate it.

i only have three vp10 tables, but i can't get any of them to actually play after loading.

berzerk gives me like 5-7 script errors...lol.

america's most haunted gives me script errors.

and star trek gives me several errors...one about sam.vbs, one about vpinmame (i'm assuming this one just means that my vpinmame is out of date - do i just update it by downloading the new one and replacing the old one where it currently is? and will that screw with my vp9 set up?). then it gives me some script errors after all that.

it's a work in progress, lol....definite learning curve with this stuff.

    ahhhh....thanks.

wonder if that's the vpinmame error i was getting?

    i will watch the video.

is the new vpinmame sam/pindmd download a new one, to replace my old vpinmame? or a separate file?

    #713 8 years ago

Yes you will need the latest vpinmame from here - http://vpuniverse.com/forums/files/file/2480-vpinmame-sampindmd-1-and-2unity-unified-version/

Grab Sam.vbs there too and put it in your vbs directory or table directory.

All you need to do to install the new vpinmame is to overwrite your existing dll file located in your current vpinmame directory, click on setup and click install. All your previous tables will work fine and now so will the Sam tables.

For AMH you will need to install Ultra DMD and that is a whole other topic

    hahaha.

let's get vp10 working at a base level and then we'll worry about this ultra dmd thing.

    #715 8 years ago

    Hrm.. not seeing Sam.vbs there.

    #716 8 years ago

Is there a pretty good guide or youtube tutorial you guys suggest following for setup of VP10 and physics?

Ultradmd is an add-on for making displays for original tables.

Correct, just overwrite the Vpinmame.DLL file and that other DLL into your existing install and click setup, then install to activate it.

    #723 8 years ago

    thanks fellas.

    #724 8 years ago

Oops.. looks like the sam file is in the download.

    1 week later
    #725 8 years ago

finally got some time to try this, but i wanted to clarify real quick before i jacked something up...

"click setup" - you mean the original vpinmame setup icon that's in my vpinmame folder? just run the setup again? it was already set up/installed when i received my cab...this won't screw with that, i guess?

    #726 8 years ago

Hey All Hows it going? Iam in need of help
with the Sopranos Table. when I run it. I cant hear any of the music or sound effects or the

The real Stargate is in my personal top 10 list. The Virtual Pinball version is my top 5. Fun factor is a 10. Well worth the install on your cabinet, make sure you get the latest version, it uses VP9.9.

ah. thank you. i was beginning to think i was somehow screwing up when clicking the link! lol.

    #736 8 years ago

apologies for not being able to get this...i'm sure it's simple. but...i just can't. computers generally hate me. i'm more of a console guy. :/

so i downloaded the vpinmame/sam combo thingy. there's two options there to download. i downloaded the one that is not for pindmd (that's if you're running a real dmd screen, right? mine is a tv screen).

i overwrote the pinmame.dll file in my existing vpinmame folder. i overwrote the bass.dll file in my visual pinball folder and when that didn't work, i also overwrote the bass.dll file in my vp10beta folder (also within the visual pinball folder). i get the same errors either way, so i guess it doesn't matter.

i also put the sam file in my vp10 tables folder. i tried it in the vbs folder too, but again, same errors either way...so...

after all of that, i clicked on the setup icon within my vpinmame folder. i chose to install. it tells me that it installed the 2.6 version.

the tables load fine...i just get all of these errors when i try to play a table. if anybody can help, i'd appreciate it.

    frustrated.

this is the one i clicked on...clicked on the first option of install...and it tells me it installed the 2.6 version.

Looking for help on getting the Real DMD to work on
Tables. Some tables it doesn't come on. Is there something
In the scripts that needs to be changed or added? to have it
Come on. And does anyone know how to remove the DMD on the
Backglass? I right click and select hidden on the DMD/grille and
Restart the table. But it still shows up? Thanks for any help

    #740 8 years ago

When you say "real DMD" are you talking about a pinball dot matrix or just a 15" monitor where a portion of it is being used as a DMD? Usually you just move your mouse until you see it sweep across the DMD area and just drag and drop it where you want it. I've never used a true dot matrix, but in a simple 3 screen setup that is how it works.

    #741 8 years ago

yep iam using a PinDmd dot matrix. when
i run a table. i have a dmd screen on the backglass and my PinDMD shows up. some
tables i run the dmd doesnt show up on my PinDmd. Addams Family is one of them. i using the Direct B2S backglasses. i can never get rid of the dmd on the backglass. i right click on the BG and it brings up a menu to
to disable which dmd you want but it never works when i select 'Hidden' and reset the table n reload. i can move the dmd screen around on the backglass but when i drag it to the side of the backglass then it shows up on the table. is there anything in Scripts you need
    to change? thanks

Go into the Editor Script then
Find the With Controller statement for the controller and add this line between the With and the End With

    .Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("showpindmd") = 1

This line above will actually work to change the registry value, while just putting .showpindmd = 1 doesn't work.

You can also change the value to 0 to hide the dmd

Thanks Boogies! I'll give it a try.

Played the virtual pins at the booth in the York show, but man, couldn't deal with the slight flipper lag after hitting the flipper button. Don't like those crazy scrolling pinball FX games either, I just want to play real world pins that are emulated, but lag kills it for me.

    #745 8 years ago

hmmmm....wonder how they had them set up?

i've never noticed any lag on mine. maybe it's the tv?

Unfortunately, there are many ways to build these and some get lag. People buy TV sets and think they'll be ok but they usually are not. You can't rule out virtual pinball after playing one laggy machine. Also, the scrolling camera on pinball fx2 can be disabled.

They we're our pins. We rarely hear anyone complain of lag. Pudluther has one of the very same machines we take to the shows. We try and keep the Pinball FX2 games on a fixed camera view but people change them all of the time at the shows.

Fellas, if anyone here knows of anyone wanting to get into the Vp Club.... VPCabs is the way to go, I don't own one of their machines, but if I hadn't built mine from scratch, I would have saved money and serious time buying one of their mini's... seriously, I'm not a paid actor

    #749 8 years ago

I bought one of the VPcabs mini off the floor at York. Sure, I could have built one but the quality of their product and the time saved was well worth it.

I have no noticeable lag with my flippers in Pinballx or Pinball FX2.

Was playing a few tables of pins I own or owned to compare: TFTC and I forgot what others, but not the FX tables. I was just speaking of the FXtables in general, didn't play any there.

Press the flipper button and it was slight lag for the screen flipper to respond. Not a lot, but certainly noticeable to my wife and myself.
