I would like to share my setup, even though it is not as "vintage" as some of the other equipment already seen on this thread...

    Onkyo C-7030 CD Player (2011)
    Onkyo TX-38 Stereo Receiver (1985)
    JBL G300 Stereo Speakers (1997)

I collect all of my music on CDs and rip them into mp3 files so that I can play them on my smartphone while on the go. I don't want to start an argument over this; but in my opinion, CDs are the best format for music. I also have a RCA Composite audio to 3.5mm cable which allows me to connect my monitor to the stereo system. The monitor's only audio output is Aux. In this way, I can play the audio from my Playstation 4 system which I use for streaming content through the speakers. The built in speakers on the monitor on horrendous themselves!

    Quoted from Mikedenton49:

Holy smokes it would take six weeks to go through them all and cross reference against Ebay. Would it be absurd to go to a record store? Or does that work pretty much like game exchange?

My grandfather is a music fanatic and used to have a huge vinyl collection. He had quality albums in good condition, not the beat up 1950's Christmas albums you would find on a Goodwill shelf. He sold his entire collection to a local record store and made a few thousand, I believe. Also, I may be interested in the cassette deck if you are willing to sell it! Mikedenton49

    Quoted from PeterG:

I am more a jvc guy. I had this set when I was a kid. Now bought the almost the same setup including some cd changers I always wanted back then but did not have the money for.

Sick setup, brother; I am jealous of you! PeterG

Why do stereo receivers have a speaker a and speaker b option? What is the purpose of having four speakers connected to your receiver if you are only playing two channel audio?

Thank you for answering my question! I found dumb asking it here. MustangPaul

Does anyone use the tuner on their stereo receiver? I just ordered a FM Dipole Antenna so that I could listen to the radio from my stereo system.
