Hey everyone,
as some of you may recall, a few months back we did a Kickstarter campaign to get Vintage Flipper World, the Ann Arbor Pinball Museum, up and running;
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/clay-and-ann-arbor-pinball-museum
Thanks to your help and the dedicated efforts of a ton of folks, we are now fully operational! As was discussed in the planning stages, we are a private facility, but the township charter allows us to be open to the public 4 times a year. Now that we have our house in order and up to a level where we are comfortable having guests, it's time to celebrate.
As such, we are proud to announce the first (and hopefully annual) VFW-AAPM Showcase!
The event will be held at the facility on Friday through Sunday, May 16-18. We're still ironing out the details, so keep watch on this page as more info becomes available;
Some things we do know;
1) We've already got over 185+ games already set up and ready to play. Depending on how many restorations we can get to, and if folks bring games, we're looking to cross the 200 mark. We've got some rare games to share, including Big Bang Bar, Joust (head-to-head), Stern's Orbitor 1, and more!
2) Due to occupancy/safety limits, and our desire to provide a great environment for playing, attendance will be limited. We don't have the final number yet, but if you are interested in attending, we are currently accepting reservations. Please go to the website above to make one.
3) There will be a "requested donation" for tickets. We're still figuring out final pricing now, but expect something similar to other pinball shows/expos. Once again, please make a reservation, as there will be no tickets available at the door.
4) All attendees will be eligible for a drawing to win a nice door prize (it won't be just parts)!
5) We're planning on having a swap meet/flea market area in our multi-bay garage out back, so if you'd like to bring something to buy/sell/trade, please just let us know.
6) We are planning on having vendors, and are in talks to figure out how many/who right now.
7) Food/drink will be available for purchase. We're looking into options right now. One idea is to have a catering/food truck outside.
We are really excited to have our facility open to the public for the first time, and look forward to showing the collection to the great pinball community we have out there. If you can set aside the time, we'd love to see you out at Vintage Flipper World!
Save the date!
Thanks,
Eric V.
