This is making my head hurt. Not sure if it was done prior to me owning the game because this also is not on the wiring schematic. Have a 60's Williams EM. There are two switches on each flipper, a NO and NC. I know the NC is the EOS switch but what's the point of the NO switch? Both go directly to flipper windings.

Yes I'm wondering how sensitive BOTH switches need to be in relation to each other for optimal flipper performance. Thanks!

I am wondering if someone has dimensions of the newer style flipper plates? I would like to convert my time warp flippers into modern style. I am unsure if they would fit. I need the dimensions of flipper shaft hole to two outsides edges as well so I can make a paper template to fit it Before I buy the sets from pinball life.

thanks, was your example from a TW or Disco Fever?

I have tried searching this thread for the answer but if switching to the WPC plates, what coil stop is correct? How do you determine this? Is it the same coil stop # that would go into the stock flipper assembly?

This is a great thread for getting started in pinball. Just got a high speed and thanks to the info in this thread was able to easily identify two issues in my flipper assemblies. Pop quiz whose paying attention, what's wrong with these two photo?

Dozer, I was initially referring to the red parallel coil that was installed but no capacitor, and the old series coil using a double diode instead of a single across the end terminals.

You got extra credit for everything else!

just did the flipper update to my high speed, have parallel coils and new style springs and it defiantly does make a difference! Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of the low voltage lane change switches on the flippers for High speed? That game has no lane change features?

Quoted from zacaj:

And revving the engine

Quoted from vid1900:

I think it's just for putting in your initials for the high score

You would think they would just put the switch in stack with the flipper buttons no?

Those are wave washers and they are designed to take up the "slop" of the assembly. If you said th coil is snug you should be fine. Check it once in a while to make sure it remains that way.
