What's a good strategy to use when disconnecting all of the wires? I'm about to do a total tear down and restore on a game that's really beat up, but in absolutely terrified about taking everything off. I plan on taking tons of pictures, but I don't want to rewire everything incorrectly.

Sorry to bother you guys here, but I am in kind of a jam. I bought this F14 that had half of the Mylar already torn off of it. I tried utilizing the flour and alcohol method with moderate success. However, no matter how slow I went, I still managed to lose a good bit of the decal art. My bonehead mistake came when I just learned that the chevron inserts are difficult to find (DOH!) unless you want to pay a hefty price for the red ones that were on ebay. =]

Anyhow, the inserts and decals look pretty bad now. They aren't smooth and feel really rough to the touch. What is the next best thing I can do to get this to look better?

Thanks!
