Hey guys. I know video modes are a controversial topic, and while I personally like them, I wanted this thread to be a comprehensive listing of all the modes. And we could perhaps discuss strategies to play the modes...
If you don't like video modes, then just don't comment here please, or comment with a "LIONMAN!" as that is something we can all agree on. And if you don't like the modes, then you can use this list to avoid games with them.

    Apollo 13
    Attack From Mars
    Baywatch
    Batman Forever (Batmobile driving)
Black Rose (3 video modes... Swimming, swinging, and knife throwing).
    BSD
Champions Pub (personally not a good one... But, not the worst)
    Congo
    Creature from the Black Lagoon
CV (I've never gotten this mode before... But, I'm told it exists!)
    Doctor Who
    Elvis
    Fish Tales
Game of Thronse (Possibly the worst video mode ever!!!!!)
    Getaway HSII
Ghostbusters (2 modes Don't Cross Stream and ESP)
    Guns and Roses
Harley Davidson (Stern... Same mode as GnR)
    Houdini
IJ:TPA (3 modes the gun fight and mine cart and choose wisely)
    JJ POTC
    Johnny Mnemonic
Junk Yard (2 main modes Running from Dog, and shooting dog with toaster, and time machine plays other games video modes)
    Lethal Weapon 3
    Medieval Madness
Mr. And Mrs. Pacman (done with lights, but ball is not in play, and you control it via flippers so I think it counts)
Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends (Blow out the bomb... Its a quicktime event and game isn't paused, but its still a video mode)
Safecracker (Its the interactive boardgame on the backglass, again. You control(sort of) with flippers so it counts.
    ST:TNG
    Stern Star Wars
Super Mario Bros (Simple... But, really fits the theme of the table)
    T2
T3 (Really just a reskin of T2's mode... But its a fun one...)
Theatre of Magic (Digital pinball... a bit meta, but fun and easy way to get an EB)
    The Shadow
    Tommy

Please note I'm not counting the modes where you pick a door and go into it as a video mode. TFTC have modes like those, but my definition of a video mode is a mini video game that you play with the flippers. Also, not counting trivia like X-files and I believe NBA Fastbreak.
And these are the ones that I know of. Either the ones I've seen or gotten to myself or heard about. If you know of more. Please let me know. And also describe the mode for me. Sometimes youtube videos are hard to find for just video modes.
I personally enjoy these silly modes(when they're good), and I actually just bought the FX3 Junk Yard to play that mode. Fun mode...

Don't forget "The Shadow". That one is challenging and fun.
"Indianapolis 500" has a good one too.

Anybody have the link of the video from a southern tournament where Lyman beats the AFM saucer attack? It was the one part of AFM that he let Brian code. I'm a NIB AFM owner and still fail the video challenge quite often. I seem to do better when the cows replace the saucers. Don't forget to hit the launch button when the SHTF.

Just a question and don't be angry at me... But, one way to help complete the mode.
Use your martian bomb. You get one free for the mode. You use it by hitting the launch ball button.
This will destroy all the enemies on the screen and is great to use around the 2/3 point of the mode as it can give you the needed push to complete it...
I've beaten the mode without using it before... But, it gets easier when you use it... Still no guarantee.

Then the mothership shows up. And that is more of a feel type thing. Don't panic, try to get into the groove on how it moves, as you have more than enough time to destroy it. I've destroyed it 2-3 times right before I was about to get crushed. So again... Take your time and find the groove.

Just realized I never asked the question. The question is, you do know about the martian bomb right?

    Judge Dredd

    Pursuit Mode
This is a nice marriage between a video mode, and a pinball game. The display shows a car speeding along with a police car following. The 'Pursuit' lights will flash at the entrance to the right and left ramps. By shooting either ramp, the police car will shoot a missile at the car. The car swerves all over the road so you have to time the ramp shot so that the missile will hit the car. If you hit the car you get 35 million

I also read that it had a shooting range mode... But, I opted to not include games in my list that I never played or heard of... Or could find a video of to verify... CV... was the exception.

And yeah... Judge Dredd sounds like a cool game... I hope to own one someday... Even though it is a widebody.

Really, the data east one has some... I've played that a few times. I wonder if I ever gotten those modes or not. I cannot recall. Hmmm... Next time I play a DE SW I will check it out. Thanks for the heads up. Do you recall what the video modes consisted of?

Video mode on SST is a physic guessing game. Pick any card out of a 52 card deck and hope you picked the right one. Bonus points if card or suit matches I think. I've never matched so no idea what you get.

    Quoted from Diospinball:

IJ:TPA (2 modes the gun fight and mine cart)

There are actually 3 video modes.
The 3rd is "Choose Wisely" where the templar knight mixes up the grails and you have to choose the correct one.

Thank you. Yeah. I forgot about that mode. I think personally I've only gotten the gun bar one. But, I seen the other modes on Papa. Just forgot. Thanks for reminding me.

CV (I've never gotten this mode before... But, I'm told it exists!)

The video mode on CV is called "The Amazing Rooney".
It's kind of like the video mode on Dr. Who, only you are a kangaroo on roller skates jumping over obstacles.

Cue Ball Wizard has one where the goals is to catch pool balls in a side pocket that you slide left and right along the bottom of the DMD. The mode sends four balls your way, one at a time. Each one you catch awards an increasing number of points. The game alternates between using this one and a second that you guess left/center/right (which is disqualified by the rules of the thread).

Do you want to count the slot machine in Riverboat Gambler? You don't really control anything but that's just like a slot machine too. In a slot you drop a quarter and three reels spin; same in RBG, but in the pin every spin wins something. Still, it's a nice use of a pre-DMD display in a system 11.

SWE1 video modes count? Some modes you can simply catch the ball and use the laser buttons to finish off the robots or the ships.

Both of the first Jurassic Parks have video modes.

Data East: Jurassic Park has two that I can think of. The first is at the beginning where you have to shoot the raptor with the gun when you plunge the ball.
The second is a big T-Rex that runs across the screen while you're playing and you have to grab the gun and shoot it a bunch of times while you try not to drain.

SEGA: Jurassic Park The Lost World also has two video modes that I'm aware of. They are both pretty dull in my opinion, but video modes none the less.
The first is when you plunge the ball there is a large dinosaur foot and you time it to step on and crush a human. If you crush a human you get points, if you step on another dinosaur it hurts your foot.
The second video mode is random as hell. You basically are swinging from a trapeze sort of high wire thing and have to swing over the head of a T-Rex. It's kind of a pointless mode that is perhaps the easiest video mode I've ever played. You literally have to try to die in order to not make the jump.

I've played the Cue Ball Wizard in pinball arcade. That is one video mode where no amount of practice makes me good at it... I just can't line up the pockets, no a big loss as the mode kind of stinks. But, its a video mode. next time I update the list at the top I'll add it. Thanks for the input!!!!

Not sure if I'm counting a skill shot as part of video mode.
But, the shooting the T-rex sounds like fun feature, and a lot like Lethal Weapon 3 mode. So, I think DE JP does in fact count. Wish there was one around where I live, as my father really enjoys that game, and I'd take him to play it.

So, I'm one of the weird people who not only likes video modes, but I really enjoy both Pinball 2000 games. I don't know which one I like better RFM or SWE1. Both have pros and cons to them, but both have some awesome modes. But, those games are more like an interactive pinball mode or video game and not a traditional video mode. But, you're right, those lasers can be super cool to use.
I've tried to use the lasers in RFM, not certain what modes they play out for. Because, paris under attack I can't use them, and neither the whitehouse mode. I know you get missiles that you can launch... Just not certain what modes they work on... Or it could be the machine I mostly play it is slightly damaged. But, cool games... But, for this list, they don't make the cut.

You got to shoot the balls into ball locks. Its video intensive, but not a real video game as you're using the balls to control the mode.

I think if its during the live pinball play, it would need to be something like grabbing and firing the gun, as a live pinball cannot complete that function, or pressing the launch button during play. So something like LW3 or Rocky and Bullwinkle, while during live play, still meet the criteria for it being a video mode.

Yes, its arbitrary. But, I think or hope that makes sense to you guys. Mainly, I'm tying to see what video games were put into pinballs. So far fun list.
And want to thank everyone for their responses.

I like blowing up the tank mode, Padme shooting the flying droids, I think there is one where you shoot down flying craft(can't remember), and Pod Racing is fun.
The modes I don't like are the musical chairs(too silly), The Queen Amidala mode with the rotating wheel is a bit dumb as well, and Juggling Jar Jar(anything jar jar I hate).

I really like the mini wizard mode of fighting Darth Maul. That to me is a call wizard mode. One of my favorites in all pinball. Is the game perfect... No, it has a little kid voice for the callouts, and he's just as annoying as the Anakin in episode 1. But, I love blowing up robots. Big, big fan of killing robots and of killer robots, so that is one reason why I like SWE1.

Maverick - play blackjack for points and to re-light kickback

Sopranos - play Texas hold ‘em for points

I remember two. Speeder mode has speeders going through the woods while you shoot them by pushing the plunger button. It is lame. Also the AT-AT mode where they are walking toward the rebel base. Not sure what you do on that one. There may be more but I sold the pin.

What's the beer pouring mode? Is it like tapper at all?
Mr. and Mrs. Pacman actually meets the criteria set in my own comments. The only thing is its not video as its done with lights on the playfield.
But, there are a lot of classic video game handhelds that used lights in a similar fashion. So, I think you're right. I think it might merit an entry on this list.
So when I do update this list, I'll be adding that along with all these wonderful posts you guys have made.

umm... STTNG - Standard video mode (navigating through the caverns?) and riker video poker mode and the hidden breaking bricks mode (which if I recall correctly is real and not just a rumor)

    1) Choose Wisely
    2) Escape in the Mine Cart
    3) Ravens Bar

The rest of the modes like Tank Chase, Monkey Brains, Steal the Stones, Survive the Rope Bridge, Get the Idol, Streets of Cairo and Well of Souls are not video modes.

Hmmmm... You're talking about when you go the backbox and roll the dice, and it a board game type thing... I think you're right. I think that fits the criteria.
Alright. Safe Cracker... I've only played this game digitally(I really would like to play it in person and not just a game or two, but to really sit down and play it for a few hours. As I think the game really is unique and weird and I don't think the digital version of it comes even remotely close).
I'll have to play my digital version of it a few more times and get a better feel for it.

Its a bit out of left field, but wasn't that how most pinball modes and themes were in the 90s. And I bet in a way it does make sense as its probably something most fishermen dream about being able to do, to all the idiots on the lake scaring the fish away.

I completely disagree. I like liars dice. At least there's some strategy involved and you get to decide what you'll risk. I'm not all that interested in playing video games when I play pinball, but liars dice fits nicely with potc.
