Do any of the new titles from SterN, or the other manufacturers offer video modes anymore?

Basically you can find them on Dwight Sullivan games and nowhere else. Thankfully they're mostly dead and stinking.

Liar's Dice on jjPotC. I actually really enjoy that one now that I understand how to play.

Card tossing on Houdini - like this mode a lot, too

We can only hope that hogbog is cramming a GnR video mode in his upcoming jjGnR game. There are plenty of debauched stories from the road:

    1. Mike Tyson PunchOut-type simple game where the Axl punches David Bowie event is acted out, but instead of apologizing Bowie becomes the Mike Tyson character and you have to knock him out.
    2. Slash trashes progressively more elaborate hotel rooms for points.
    3. Slash and Axl race to the drug dealer's in a Konami Track and Field type event. The hurdles are junkies and passed out homeless people.
    4. Moth battle - shoot moths with a shotgun, Axl style.
    5. Heaven and Hell - Angel Axl and Devil Axl appear on Axl's shoulders with a meter sliding towards the devil. Rapidly press the flipper buttons to move the meter back towards Angel Axl. Wherever the meter ends up will affect the game from then on - positively or negatively.

There are lots of possibilites. C'mon Keith and Eric, these could be epic video modes!

I like some of the video modes on 90s pins like Dr. Who and Indiana Jones.
On games like Dr. Who there is an option to turn video mode off if that's not your thing.
I would be cool with more video modes if they were incorporated well.
Giving the option to turn them off for people that don't like them would probably be a good option.

A few years ago, long before LCD's made an appearance in the real world, I had this idea to make video modes slightly more interesting in pinball - an interactive live action movie. The player presses the left or right flipper to control the action when prompted, kind of like the Dragon's Lair or Space Ace arcade games. I've created 3 live action video modes in my games, this one is for Tron Legacy.

The idea is to make them fun, rewarding (this one wins an extra ball) and above all.....QUICK!
