I'm not sure why anyone would hate video mode or even dislike it? They typically aren't very long and all the ones I've played over the years,TFTC, T2, Creech, FT, have all been implemented very well.
I wouldn't want it to be a big part of the game, but some spot play here and there is cool. Besides, why not maximize the potential of those dots?
