I have a Quantum Electronics QEWE100 Rev B DM128x32 Panel that has one vertical line that sometimes does not light up and sometimes does, depending on what is on the rest of the display. Everything works fine again when the display is running for a longer time.

I made an animated GIF of the self-test when it is cold:

Everything on the board looks nice, what should I try to fix it or should I better leave it alone?

    Quoted from ChrisHibler:

Start by isolating to the DMD or to the DMD Controller.
Both the displays and the controllers are compatible between your STTNG and your RS.

Of course, I tried that. It is definitely the DMD.

    Quoted from ChrisHibler:

I'd really like to know how you made the animated gif.
I'd love to add some to the PinWiki.

I just recorded it with my phone and I imported it in Photoshop, cropped, selected the frames I wanted to keep, set delay and repeat and exported it as GIF. But there are also online sites that do it probably easier.

    Quoted from SteveP3:

Maybe a cold solder joint for that column on the dmd?

Would that not cause the whole column always to fail until it is warmed up?

It only fails at some patterns, like in the diagonal line test, some pixels in other columns also don't light up.
But after warming up, everything works fine.

Hi Blondie, the problem went away automatically. I think it was just a bad solder, but I don't have the machine anymore.
