So true...front in first. Hurriedly picked up a pin and when I was on the ride home looked in the rear view mirror and saw the pin was in backwards. Made it difficult to get it back out.

    Quoted from bobukcat:

+1 on this suggestion, I've tried pool noodles and PVC but I found the pool noodles will fall apart after not very long and both solutions add height to the machine which is a problem if you're dealing with a tight fit to begin with. The biggest negative to the masonite is that the game can really slide around easily so on long trips I make sure I bring additional moving blankets to stuff in the sides and back to keep it stationary.

If the cargo area has tie downs it's a good idea to use straps to hold the pin from sliding around.

2021 BMW X3 does NOT fit a standard pin with the back box folded down. Tried and failed w/ Rick and Morty a couple months ago. Corners can’t make it past the curved roof opening.
(Site shows BMW X3 2003-2014 fits but I couldn’t find anything more recent)

X3 owner here (2018) but haven’t tried to transport a pin. Can the head be slid down, or not even close to fitting?

I didn’t consider that option so I’m not sure how much height it would save but I’d say about an inch is needed on each corner.

Thanks, guess it would depend how much slack is in the wiring to shorten the height..

i have a 2015 X3 , and they fit in my car , so don't know if the same

I have a 2018 but haven’t tried to haul a pin in it. Rear seats do not fold flat unfortunately. Someone upthread showed how to remove the seat bottom cushion to get it flatter.

The 2015 vs 2018 are Second vs Third generation. In the newer one it Looks like roof slopes down more in the back. Let us know if it fits.

Meteor fits in a 2018 BMW X3 M40i. The head is “on” the cabinet a little below the neck. There is less than an inch clearance to the headliner at the hatch entrance. Also, the pin needs to be centered since the roof slopes down on the sides.

I was prepared with 1” pvc pipe to roll the pin in since the seats don’t lay flat but no room to use them.
