Has anybody fit a pin inside an Audi E-tron? Took measurements and it looks like it’s just shy. Wondering if anyone’s tried it.

I believe the rear hatch on the Q4 is almost identical to the id.4, so no way to get a pin in without at least sliding the backbox down. (From parking my VW next to one, they seem to be nearly identical on the exterior). No idea on the larger Q8, as I haven’t seen one.

Edit: clarification for Q4 vs Q8.

I know the photo perspective is a bit off here but this is the larger Q8 E-tron MLB Evo platform which is different than the Q4 E-tron / ID4 MEB platform. I did measure it and while the width and depth are generous the height dimension is shy by a couple inches though the floor drops a couple inches so it may actually fit if you can shoehorn it in. Perhaps removing the head brackets and sliding the head forward towards the lock at may also work. I may just have to try it out with a game and experiment.

My bad, I thought it was the Q4… Sorry, no idea on the Q8.

More data on 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness, following up on my earlier post:
    https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/vehicles-that-a-pinball-machine-fits-in/page/43#post-7307068

Fits MMr and Farfalla just fine. On Farfalla I forgot to take a couple pics until we had started to unload. The ratchet for the strap was placed on top of the head and to the right, and we had to keep it slid toward the left of the Forester so that it would clear the seat belt fixture bump on the right. Without the ratchet on top we would have been able to keep it centered.

Not a lot, but it fit just fine. Unfortunately you wouldn’t be able to fit a NIB in a Ford bronco

Has anyone successfully fit two modern Sterns in a minivan? This would be an enterprise rental so something in the realm of Chrysler Pacifica

I feel like the passenger entry is too narrow so you’d have to put it in the trunk and then turn, forming a T?

I've put two in a mid 2000s Honda Odyssey and I'm pretty sure my nephew has fit three in there. But he's more crafty than me.

Well. Two wedgeheads in the Jetta Mk4 Wagon TDI with room for a dolly. Pretty neat.

Oh, and here is some quasi-topic-related content: I offered to help a friend pick up a Stargate with my 2022 Forester Wilderness because his wife had the minivan out of state. Based on analysis (https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/size-of-stargate-cabinet-while-folded), and confirmed by seller measurements, I could not help. Stargate height = 32" with backbox folded. 2022 Forester max height at rear opening is ~31.25".

Update on a 2021 Ford Explorer XLT

A modern Stern does fit, but you have to force it in there to get past the initial opening. The hatch opening really narrows at the sides and the pin will rub up against the top of the car sliding in

My vehicle has captains chairs instead of a middle row bench, which may or may not play a factor in making it more difficult.

As previously mentioned, the rear cargo area is not flat all the way out, and the plastic lip is a pain when getting the machine back out.

TLDR version: you can do it, but i wouldn’t recommend doing it yourself (which is fairly simple with minivans), and make sure the art is very well protected

Anyone try fitting a pin in a 2023 Qashqai/Rogue Sport? (I tried searching the thread of course).

Fiancee and I are buying one and sadly fitting a pin isn't a criteria. But I think it will fit!

The floor is dead flat with the seats down in the demo model we saw, there's no lip if you have the extra cargo floor, the door is wide, and quoted rear seat headroom is 978mm/38.5", and distance from the lip to the back of the front seats is 55".

Quoted headroom in the back seat is usually to the seat bottom so you'll lose 6-8" with the seat down from the quoted number.

Only thing I'm not really sure on is height, I'll measure and report back when we take possession, but I'll be really excited if it does fit!

I have no experience w/ your vehicle, but where you sometimes run into an issue is the rear opening itself where the hatch is and around the latch. The top of the opening looks like it slopes down from the center, so that means less clearance off to the sides. You'll wanna measure all that carefully in a few spots b/c that really determines what'll actually fit through that opening w/o extra disassembly. You probably *can* fit a pin in there if you don't mind fully removing the head and/or laying it on its side, depending on the pin itself.

2017. Have squeezed an F14 and CCr in there. With CCr and a piece of cardboard underneath while wrapped it was... "SNUG" especially on removal, but it worked.

SUVs in the last 5 years or so have been following this maddening trend of narrowing the hatch entry. Clearly not with the pinball community in mind.

As previously mentioned here in the thread, I have a 2022 and if you slide the head down a bit and/or take out the rear seat bottoms so the backs fold more flat, a newer Stern will fit.

    Quoted from blizz81:

For me, this would be a "no, but" it does not fit without further adjustment. My 2015 cx5 fit any game straight in without any specific adjustment so that would be a "Yes"

    #2332 77 days ago

Can only speak for the CX-5.

True, though it sounds like the seat bottoms are pretty easy to remove, and I figure more information is better/more helpful than a silly static effective "yes" "no" column on a spreadsheet.

Yeah, if you unhook the head and slide it, it will work. Otherwise it won’t fit. I have a 2019. I use my pilot instead.

CX5 you can pull up the floor then slide it back in to a lower position by about an inch. Or you can slide it out from the lower position and drop it back in to the high position.

Must have. I think a similar change that others have reported. The machine would fit if it could clear the back hatch threshold. Roof is high enough past that point, but at the threshold there’s extra padding that makes the entrance height lower.

    #2338 72 days ago

    Pinwiki says:

"Murano (2012) - Folded WPC will not fit. Bumps on ceiling for hatch hinge and seat belt shoulder strap."

If you pop off the plastic cover for the seat belt shoulder strap on the ceiling, all is well.

In my 2012 Murano, I have moved World Cup Soccer, Shadow, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Scared Stiff, Pool Sharks, Black Pyramid, Space Station, and Guardians of the Galaxy (Pro) without issue.

The only machine I moved that wouldn't completely fit was Pinball Magic. I still moved it in the Murano, but it to hang out the back of the hatch a little bit.

    #2339 71 days ago

I have a Citroen C8 otherwise that can easily fit a pinball machine, but I'm considering as a replacement for our aging 330D a Tesla Model Y.

I know a pin does not fit as is a Model Y, but:
    - Does it fit if the backbox is unmounted and slid down
    - Or alternatively, I assume it would fit if the backbox was fully disconnected, and stored vertically on the side of the machine ?

    Cheers

    Following up on this.

We took delivery, and unfortunately ours doesn't have the flat floor (something I intend to fix soon).

I measure 28" or so from the lip to the top opening of the hatch, which is obviously not ideal. The vehicle has TONS of width and length.

So the real question is, how much total height can you usually trim by unbolting and sliding the head down the body?
