Since I saw the post that a Stern will not fit in a Renegade, I can confirm that a WPC game will fit in a 2016 Renegade with the head folded down.

2021 Toyota RAV4 fit a Star Trek Next Generation no problems. Did not fit a Gottlieb Strikes and Spares though. Had to have the hatch open some.

I wonder if a Subaru Sambar would fit a pin...

    Quoted from RobF:

2017 BMW X5 ok for Sterns.
    [quoted image]
It was a no go for the System11 however.

I gave it another go with High Speed in my X5 and I am happy to say I got it to work without disconnecting the head. In my failed attempt I had used a thick moving blanket between the head and cabinet and thought it might be possible to make it fit with something thinner. I used a piece of cardboard this time and that did the trick. I had about an inch and half clearance. I use a cut sheet of thin hardboard to help slide over the transition to the not quite flat rear seats. Yay for the X5!

Hey folks - how about a 2018 Nissan Rogue ?

Game in question is a Pinbot.

    2018.

I’m aware it’s a bit of a crap shoot. Worst case i will remove the backbox hinges and slide the head forward down the glass a few inches which should create enough space.

    But any testimonials appreciated!

    #1958 1 year ago

I can confirm that a 2012 won't fit a WPC unless you take the head off.

    Quoted from pinbuoy:

    Well the Rogue definitely worked.
    Independence Day was the pin,
forgot to take pics for this thread.

    Quoted from squirtbrnr:

2016 Nissan Rogue fits a DMD era Stern with cardboard underneath it, over the back box with ratchet strap and moving blanket between the cabinet and back box and tucked under the cabinet. About 1/2” to spare at the upper corners when sliding it in.
    [quoted image]

    Quoted from Canteau:

Picked up my first pin yesterday. 2019 Nissan Rogue will fit a machine with few inches to spare.
    [quoted image]

Some other mentions of the Rogue. There's a chance, but I'd be pretty surprised if pinbot fits without removing the head.

    Quoted from Deaconblooze:

Yeah that's my takeaway too. It'll be close.

I don't think a full head removal will be needed. Just remove the backbox hinges - which is easy on this era system with the head folded over - and slide it a few inches to clear the roof.

The buyer also said bungee-ing down the hatchback is an option too if we can't get it all the way in.

    BOOOOOM!!

you guys had me scared but 2018 Nissan rogue no match for a pinbot.

Does anyone know if a 2022 Kia Telluride or 2022 Hyundai Palisade will fit a new Stern? I just looked at them and I believe it will fit…looks like they have about 31” of clearance but want to be 100% sure.

Bumped for the Telluride question. My wife wants one bad and if it fit pins my wallet would open a bit easier. So sick of renting/borrowing pin haulers.

2022 Subaru Ascent does not fit a NIB Stern by about 1-2” of height clearance. Could probably fit a game that is not in the box though.

Anyone know if a 2018 Honda HRV will fit a 90s gotlieb wipe out?

    #1967 1 year ago

Finally did some hauling in my 2021 RAV4 hybrid this weekend. Hobbit and X-Men both fit, but X-Men was a little tighter fit.

    Quoted from fisherdaman:

I would be super wary as those are the biggest (tallest) cabinets ever buit.

Be prepared to remove the hinges so you can "slide" the head down the glass. This will allow it to fit without completely removing the head.

    #1970 1 year ago
    Quoted from luch:

you should take out the rubber mat .

That’s an option if I need the space but I didn’t want to thrash up the backs of my seats. I could skip the pool noodles too but they roll in so much easier with them. Thankfully they both fit with all that in.

    Quoted from KevInBuffalo:

I have the same and it is nice to see loading coin door first is also an option. I prefer the other way around.

Loading the tallest part first makes sense to get the tallest part through the door first, then as you slide it in, most beds slope up when you reach the back seats and the rest of the pin can get snug at the doorway if the tallest part is not already inside.

I always load coin door in first so you put the back down on the ground when unloading. I guess unless you are loading flat from a cart.

    Quoted from insight75:

I guess unless you are loading flat from a cart.

Yup, I load/unload flat with Pinball Skates (and a helper).

    #1974 1 year ago

Yeah I prefer coin door first so you can tip it out onto the ground to unload. At home I have a Harbor Freight cart I unload onto and I prefer the heaviest part to go on that so the back is better for that (the lighter/coin door side overhangs the front of the cart).

    Ford Mach E doesn't fit.
Cabinet went well but backbox couldn't fit.
Didn't want to try too much and damage seats or ceiling. Drove a second time to get the backbox..

Was a bit disappointed because this is the largest car I've ever had, in much smaller cars I've fit much more..

It was a wide Gottlieb, maybe a smaller machine does fit with body on its side.

Maybe you could get the measurements of the opening and have to seller get the measurements of the pin before you buy. That could help with the headache if it was to big to fit?

Maybe that would narrow down the pins or buy a bigger car? Last thought rent a U-Haul but I wonder if those are going up in price too? I have seen many around lately.

    2017 X5 transporting games to/from NWPAS...

I didn't take a picture, but (not surprisingly) can add WMS cabinet (MMr) to the list of games that fit inside the X5. For towing I comfortably fit 6 games in the 5x10 trailer. It looks about 6" short for fitting 8. It *might* work if I pulled a couple backboxes off, but I wasn't that desperate. The 35d is a champ. Yeah, it turned out to be a bad time to pick up a diesel...but man it tows nice. On a flat open road just cruising between 40-50mph it still gets 30+ mpg once up to speed. Full trip with hills and lights it was right about 20mpg.

Does anybody know if there have been changes to the Honda CRV line? Is the 2022 model still safe for modern pin hauling?

2017 through 2022 model year should have the same dimensions (other than the hybrid, which has a smaller cargo area). The 2023 model should be introduced later this year and will be redesigned.

Question: "Can I comfortably fit 2 passengers, 3 standard sheets of glass, 3 widebody sheets of glass, a tub of random parts and an entire bally old chicago in a 2022 Ford Edge?"

    Answer: "With room to spare."

Nice, I wonder if a newer Stern would fit into my 2021 Ford Edge ST? I was able to haul a TAF a few years ago in our 2011 Ford Edge Limited and it fit perfectly, however I had heard that with the newest Ford Edge body style that you have to 'slide' the head down in order to fit the newer pins into the SUV.

2016 Mazda CX-5 - JJP Wizard of Oz fits with room to spare. Had a Rick and Morty in the back for the return trip.

I have fit an SOF and an Airborne in a 2014 Santa Fe limited..... For whom this may help....

    #1988 1 year ago

Two rides with my wife's car last week, I am happy to announce that a JJP pin in its original box fits in a Mercedes GLS 450. The trunk is a bit round so put it in right in the middle and it goes in perfectly.

Anyone able to fit a pin in an ev6 or ioniq 5 (without taking the head off)? The dimensions online make vertical clearance with bb folded down very tight (if not just shy due to the rearward sloping roof line).

2022 VW Taos fit one of my street level games with room to spare, but not a whole ton. Silver Slugger with its packaging measured 28.5" tall with the lint padding/buffer. I would imagine a WPC game might fit, but can't verify that (yet).

I doubt a wpc or any other non-street level 90s game would fit. Much taller.

Not true. WPC is only an inch taller coming in at 29-1/2" supposedly. The Sys3 Street Levels are shorter in LENGHT by about 6" inches, but not any shorter in HEIGHT than most games (or, well, I guess they're much shorter than the rest of the Sys3 games...)

Anyone fit stern spike 2 in a > 2019 Santa Fe (specifically 2022)?

The narrowest dimension is 30.5" - really opens up beyond that.

I'm too lazy to get into the lineup and fold down a Stern to measure. Alien LV is on the end so easy to get to and measures at 29.25" - the inferior portion of their backbox design is 1" narrower than Stern's (and Stern's cabinet height is about .125" shorter than PB Alien) - it seems like it (stern spike 2) would just fit.

Also, a quick search in this thread doesn't show any results for the newer body style of 2019 and on. posts online about fitting a 32" tall box in the back, no way that would fit.

Make sure you’re measuring from the bottom of the rear hatch light. That being said, i think i measured the 2019 Santa Fe around 30.25-30.5 and a Spike 2 at 30.5. If not for the piece of plastic that sticks out around the power cord, you may just be able to squeeze it in but as is, I believe the answer is no

You can fit an American Pinball (well, Houdini at least) in a 2012 Ford Escape.

For what it's worth, I've hauled many standard and wide body WPC games in the Escape, a JJ WOZ and a few Stern machines (Wheel of Fortune and Nascar). I've yet to find a machine that does not fit. People are always skeptical when I pull up, and in they go!

There are a few crappy parts through. The hatch door latch "post" at the bottom of the opening sits just a tad higher than the door sill, so you have to lift the machine over it or it'll rip at wood on front/back bottom of the machine (but not the recessed bottom board). And there's a lip where the back seats fold down that you have to ease the machine over. But all in all, a nice pin hauler....
