Hey fireball not sure about flipperspiel current status but if you are near New York New York casino head up to the arcade right at the roller coaster entrance and they have some BRAND NEW stern machines set up! Looks sweet!

    Quoted from fireball2:

Just got back. I worked that Stern lineup at NYNY. They look and play almost new. Factory high scores on most of them. GENEROUS match policy. I paid for 35 games and matched at least 6 or 7 times. Generous ball save policy too. I had them to myself on Friday night late, and Saturday morning, shared with maybe 3 or 4 people on Saturday night after 10. Really liking Metallica. A lot. The surprise like was Avatar. I officially dislike Mustang (sorry). Still like WWE over TWD.
PHOF was practically empty Friday night. The whole dmd lineup was empty and waiting with only a couple exceptions. RCT and one other had pop bumper issues, and there were a couple that were dark, but... I played a lot of KISS (murderous tilt setting) and I played WNBJM for dayz. WOZ was untouched while I was there.
    Never made it to Flipperspiel.
Rickles told us he had a flesh-eating bacterial infection in one leg recently and after 6 surgeries, did the gig in a chair. His band leader hadda feed him lines a few times in his ear (I was front row so I could see), and 90% of the gig was reruns from years ago, and, repeated a joke 3 times, but he still rocks, and I fell lucky to have seen him live. He called out a guy one seat over from me for some insulting. "Missed it by that much..."

Thanks for the update! Great news about the nyny pins! Sounds like I'll have to stroll up there one of these days and actually play them instead of just take pictures of them! Lol

Dunno who, but they'd be the sweetest location pins I have ever seen.
Those machines would have looked at home in any top collection, let alone out for the public to play.
They made the PHOF games look like shit. That's another story ...
Bugger it, I'll tell it. Went there yesterday. $28 UBER from downtown. $30 taxi back to downtown. I played 6 games. 4 didn't work properly. Probably 20 games were off. So a $65 spend for a very average experience. It's really gone backwards since I was there 18 months ago.
Yeah, he donates the money, yada, yada ... But it was just a crying shame, what I saw yesterday. The other kiwis went there for the first time, and they will never go back. And that's the real shame.

Yeah the phof is def hit or miss. I live less than 10 minutes down the road from there and I don't even go there anymore let alone plan a whole trip around it. It's a shame cause there's soooo much potential there. For me one o the BIGGEST things that annoys me there is the volumes are almost all the way down! UnacceptAble on a Metallica or acdc! The machines seem to always be down also. Oh well, fun to walk around in there on a rainy day.

Any recommendations for a place to stay for a couple nights, reasonably priced.and clean ?
    Thanks

Well I'm sure you know but NYNY has the Stern pin lineup up in the arcade. EXCELLENT pins that play great. Walking over to NYNY is pretty easy if you want to stay at the Luxor which is usually cheaper. Also if you stay in the pyramid rooms the elevators run diagonally up the spines of the structure its kind of an interesting sensation and the view off your balcony looking down into the atrium of the pyramid is awesome!!. Even the walk over there is mostly indoors through the Excalibur and then over the bridge that crosses the street into NYNY. So you are only outside for less than 1 minute if the heat bothers you haha. I've stayed at the Excalibur and the Luxor for $25 - $30 per night depending on time of year. There is also the "resort fee" that they always fail to mention until you check in so add that on I think its like $12-15 but its worth mentioning. Neither of these places BTW I would call "nice". They are reasonably priced, convenient and pretty clean.

Sunset Station is the best bet. In Henderson.

I agree Sunset Station is nice. BUT....you have to drive/take a taxi to the strip. Its a great hotel for boaters who are here for Lake Mead or the colorado river cause its close to the lake. I always see boats and trailers at Sunset Station. Its not really the "strip" crowd that stays there.
