I have what I believe to be two boards that were classified as DMD Board A-14039. One of them is is 5760-12710-00, and the other is 5760-12710-11. The -00 works in my Jackbot, which is a WPC-S machine that takes A-14039-1.

My question is concerning the wire that's been soldered between two points on the -11 board. That connection exists as a trace on the -00 board, so I'm wondering if someone took a board from a different generation machine and hacked it to work with mine. Not that there's a problem with that, but when I see extra wires soldered to my boards, I like to understand why.

So, does anyone have any insight as to the machines these two revisions of boards were originally supposed to go into?

OK, I think I figured it out. The -11 board has this trace on the top side, which was presumably burned out at some point by the resistor that sits on top of it. So, the previous operator joined the two traces with a wire on the back side.

It's weird that a later revision would introduce a problem like this, but whatevers.
