playfield swap is a huge undertaking. Take that in account. If I have to do a swap myself, I consider it at least $700 discount because that's how much work it is. If the new field isnt' dimpled, that's even more work.

Quoted from patrickvc:Sellers don't look at it like they should discount it for something you want to do. That's a end benefit for you not them I have a routed 5k market value game but restorations cost are 3k. Now i should sell for 2k? Maybe I should restore the 5k game and sell for 8k. Just a example. The charge for the swap shouldn't go back on the seller is all I'm saying.
well then the game restored would be worth 8k and not 5k. When i buy games that need work, I take in account all the work they need. If they are trying to get "going rate" for a game that needs a ton of work, they will not get it. Thats the whole point in buying games that are rougher or project games. You get them cheap. If i'm buying a TAF with a totally blown out playfield. You can bet there is no way in fawking hell i'm paying anywhere close to 4-5k. This is where newbies usually fail. They look at a game regardless of condition and think it's worth the same as a game that doesn't need a playfield swap. So what happens. They end up overpaying.
