If they are in the exact same condition, I would rather have the original. But see, that's not really even possible... We now have better restoration methods and standards than the original manufactures would have ever even dreamed. Tying to compare the two is pointless.
When you spend thousands on a restoration now and you compare that to an original, they play absolutely nothing alike.
I have always liked the original as it was found game that plays perfect but it's all just personal preference when asking questions like these.
The price is set by the quality of the restoration so there really is not a blanket answer to your general question. Each game and restoration is unique. I just wish the general idiotic public pinball newbies realized all that when they list their barn find Earthshaker buried in dirt for 4 grand. They point to the restored one that got 5 grand and are like "well, it's worth at least 4 like this". When they actually just have a pile of parts worth no more than 500 bucks.
Restored stuff certainly has helped to spread the pinball stupid among the general public.
