Great looking puppet. Did you make the entire thing or find one and add the eyes? You could try a 4LR44 battery, mainly used in dog collars. It's 6v so you won't need any resistors and much smaller than a 9v. This is the difference between two cr2032's and one 4LR44 hooked up to a blue 4smd bulb.

It's called Lux Meter. There are many free ones but I liked the graph on this one.
