Hello,
I am building a puppet with light up eyes for a children's theater in Birmingham, AL. I've used OpMax bayonet bulbs in puppet eyes before because of how bright they are and the fact that they only need 6.3v of power. I have a couple questions about supplying them with the right amount of power from a battery.
I've used a 9v battery with a resistor on the line before but have totally forgotten which type. This seemed to work really well and lasted a very long time. Does anyone know the best type of resistor to put in line with a 9v? Im using regular 6.3v leds in all cases
Ive also tried buying some CR 2032 batteries and attaching them in a 2x holder for what should be 6v. The 6.3v pinball bulbs come on but the light is pretty weak compared to the 9v setup. Id love to use the 2032s because they are super low profile and weigh next to nothing but the weak light output kills it for me. Is there any chance of making this work?
Hopefully this will be useful for anyone looking to do the same. Id love to see some applications people have done with pinball bulbs outside of a machine!
Heres a Butterfree puppet I built using OpMax bulbs
