So after about a year my kids started asking me about getting a pool table, and after some trips to the local bowling alley I decided to pick one up. I am a sucker for arcade stuff, so I snagged a coin op Valley Bar Pool table off of someone local who delivered (thanks @guidotorpedo). I would like to state for the record that this thing was heavy. I ended up offering a discount on the ping pong table to the guy who picked it up in exchange for helping move it. In the end, I sold the ping pong table for exactly what I paid for it, and the kids and I had a blast on it this past year.
I'm really looking forward to trying out the pool table. It didn't include balls but they show up via amazon tomorrow.
When I was a kid, my parents had a pool table just like this one in the arcade they ran, so this is exactly what I was looking for. I will probably get it refelted as this one has seen some love. I was surprised to see 58,348 plays on the counter.
I highly recommend ping pong tables to anyone as a garage occupant over the summer. Buy one, play it for a year, then sell it for what you paid for it so long as you stay used. I could have gotten a pool table for free, but by the time I paid for moving help it was cheaper to get this one. I'm all in $700 delivered to my basement... plus a set of amazon pool balls.
