I have a Lotr LE and use the 5V/12V reserve power supply in the front right side of the cabinet for 2x 12 volt and a color dmd (again 12V?). For a mod I need additinally 5V, which I can get using a splitter cable for the reserve power supply. However, could there be any over use if the reserve cable? The additional mod is a single led 5V. What do you think?

There are more reliable splitter hardware wirh 8 outputs for mods, but what I have seen so far for spike only. Is there anything for SAM/whitestar available? Is that a better solution?

Any feedback is highly appreciated.

A single LED shouldn't cause any issues. Probably less than 50mA

I think I have like 6 mods powered from splitters on that thing.

I wouldn't worry.
