I've got these marks on the sides of the cabinet that I don't know what to do with.
Magic eraser came to mind but I'm afraid it would be too abrasive and take the shine off or worse.

Any ideas?

Magic eraser with alcohol works miracles. Just be very careful if you see it removing paint stop !! :p just take it slow.

As long as its something added to the art rather than a scratch in the art, the ME and alcohol will work well. Its better to scrub more with lighter pressure than scrubbing hard.

Try something like Simple Green first. Use Magic Eraser and alcohol as a last resort. It will clean the spots but it will leave the area dull since it is abrasive, and the dull areas will stand out depending on how the light hits the artwork. You may be able to get some of the shine back by using a light polish like Treasure Cove's #1 or Novus 2.

i had a bad experience using a magic eraser with rubbing alcohol on a playfield. it caused the PF to haze over and i had to scrub it extra hard with a dry one it get it off. probably took off a little of the coating/paint, but still looks okay. might not be an issue on a cab, but i would test a small spot before going to town on it.

dont do it on a sega/stern or the paint will come right off the artwork

Using Novus 2 immediately afterward will take care of that. That haze at first is alarming, but not a big deal at all. ALWAYS test in an inconspicuous area first (back of cab, area on playfield thats normally covered by a plastic etc....

Magic Eraser is very effective on playfields and cabinets, but must be used with extreme care not rub too hard or too long in the same spot, because it will rub off paint.

Make sure the Magic Eraser is wet with alcohol.

Ive used magic eraser with alcohol many times and that haze is always there. No problem, its part of the process. Just wipe the PF down with alcohol and polish with novus 2. The haze is just the residue that ME + alcohol leaves behind.
