Wondering if anyone can shed a little light on flipper issue I'm having on my Judge Dredd. The upper left flipper has been showing a delayed response with what feels like a weeker flipper than the other three. The lower left works perfectly. Reading through the forum I've heard rebuilding the flipper (recently done... replaced the plastic insert as well), bad flipper coil, clean optos, clean/replace opto board. Does the fact the lower left one seems to be working fine point to anything? Thanks in advance for any advice.

The flipper boards have two optos, one for the upper and one for the lower flipper.
So if one is dirty or failing... could well be

Yes, the flipper end of stroke switches need to be replaced on nearly every single JD flipper assembly that I've ever seen. Also, the metal/plastic flipper thing that actuates the flipper should be tested in switch test mode to confirm that it is working as expected. There should be TWO switches that show "OPEN" in test mode when the plastic separator thing moves outside the optical sensor. This is also the case with the right flipper. You can swap the flipper boards on each side to eliminate one as a cause of the problem.
