There are a lot of nice speakers you can purchase, anybody every drop a pair in their machine?
It doesn't really matter if they are for a car or for home use, the main thing that matters is the impedence. After you get that correct, sensitivity, size, frequency response, etc. come next.
I make my own speaker setups using that guide as well. I use these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002KOGQEI/ref=oh_o03_s00_i00_details . They sound really good in a pin, and aren't too pricey.
I use these speakers in the panel, after upgrading the 3-1/2 speaker to a 5-1/4 to match the other side:

I use this woofer:

I fabricate my own wiring harness using 18 gauge wire, and this L-Pad:

This is the setup I use in DCS games. I've found that the results aren't quite as good in pre DCS games.
In pre-dcs games, I use the same panel speakers, with this woofer:

On pre-dcs, you have to add a crossover and that complicates the wiring a little.. but not a substantial amount.
Quoted from BMore-Pinball:how do you determine what impedence your speakers are?
Sometimes it is on the speaker. Although impedance is not actually the same as resistance, you can figure out a speaker's impedance using a multimeter set on its lowest resistance setting. A 4 ohm speaker will usually measure 3-something ohms. An 8 ohm speaker will usually be 7-something ohms.
Good advice from John. I usually choose my own speakers and get them from Parts Express. I recently replaced the cabinet woofer on my TZ with this:

Tony's guide recommends using an 8 ohm woofer on pre-DCS games, rewiring, and using a crossover. I took the easy route for the time being and just put back in a 4 ohm speaker (the original cabinet speaker is 4 ohm.) The sensitivity of the one I used is similar enough to the original that the cabinet volume level matches up pretty good with the backbox and you don't need an L-pad to do any leveling.
If TZ ends up being a keeper for me, I may do the mods that Tony recommends and put in better speakers.
I have some speakers from pinball pro. I think its really hit or miss depending on what game you put it on. Mine is on TFTC and can say the bass is there...but speech isn't all that great. It takes a little bit of tweaking to adjust the volume/balance. Also, they are pretty easy to setup. Another good option is http://www.flipperfidelity.com/

They don't have a product for system 11

I have the GORGAR sub from these guys.....LOVE IT!
I have pinball pro in all my games. Upgrading to an 8" from a 6" is a nice gain. You aren't going to get as nice of a do it yourself kit without significant work. The pinball pro package comes with a wood piece to overlay in your cabinet that lets you screw your 8" sub in easily. They all have crossovers, which is a must if you're going to get serious bass. The lpad is a must to control volume. Otherwise you get horrible mid bass resonance from the cabinet.
On wpc95 games and stern games the results are amazing. That's because these platforms have decent sound output on the board. Johnny mnemonic was so awesome that the sub was triggering the lowest pop bumper and I have to recalinrate the pop bumper switch. You can feel the bass in your feet on the floor. I've been asked where I got the shaker motor for it. Tron has some super low bass sounds you simply don't hear otherwise.
The wpc games are improved enough that I still buy the sub but not as great a change as stern or wpc95. Data east benefits a lot. Guns n roses came alive with the full sub and speaker replacements.
I've also compared flipper fidelity. They are very close at least in my stern. I recommend either and would get whichever.
For sterns, I just get the subs. The backbox speakers are good enough. For Williams, I get the whole set.

So what would you say to system 11 set up, High Speed to be exact? Seems you know what your talking about is why I ask you
I just got done putting this in http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045506KU/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
It is parts express it is just easier ordering through amazon. Put it in and was immediately underwhelmed.
Then I remembered the resistor mod for DE games. Went from a 470 to a 1k and bam. Now I nee to get a crossover for it and some new speakers for the head.
