My time in Seattle is drawing to a close. We are checking out of the hotel soon and are heading back to Vancouver.
Wonderful city. Reminded me a lot of Vancouver. I'll suggest to anyone who has not been here, come for a visit, you won't be disappointed. Food is great, weather was fantastic for our entire trip, and the people were awesome! Don't miss the Ballard Locks either. Comming from a land locked province, that was really cool to witness, and the fish ladder was super neat. Those salmon looked tasty!
And speaking of the people, thanks Steve for meeting me at Shorty's. Was great to finally meet another pinsider, and put a face to the name. Always nice to have a beer with someone who shares a common passion. Very cool of you to make a trip out to meet me.
I must say, the pin geeks of Seattle are spoiled! It seemed that every 3rd establishment I walked into had a pin! Coming from a city with 4 pins on location, it felt like I was in the early 90's again! Shorty's would quickly become my local haunt if it was back home. 3.75 pints and 5 games for $2, with a great selection of new and old pins. My first time playing classic's like MM and TotAN, and being able to play TRON was great. The amount of people playing the games was great to see as well. And two doors down (Lava Lounge?), playing Funhouse for the first time since my college days was a great dose of nostalgia. "Get yourself a hot dog!"
I will defintely be back sometime in the future, even if it's just to stop for a night @ Shorty's. Now, it's off to the outlet malls for the wife, and the casino for me, then some duty free and back to the great white north! I think I'll be hitting up the Cobalt on Monday night in Van to get another night of drinking local pints and smashing that silver ball.
