Glad to see pro's shipping. Ordered in April and hoping to get in before the price increase.

#9232 2 years ago

Just got my email. Pro is on the way

#9236 2 years ago
Quoted from BubbaPin:

1100 tax included for the price increase of a premium in a few months

Is this speculation? I don't follow the pricing threads.

#9237 2 years ago
Quoted from Zathras:

Just got my email as well. Pro to be delivered in a week.

Game Exchange?

Also, do they drop ship from the factory or is my pro traveling to Colorado before turning around and coming back to 20 miles from the stern factory?

#9258 2 years ago
Quoted from CashMoney:

I can confirm JJ at the Game Exchange no longer does drop shipping.

Yep. Looks like it's headed from Colorado. Tracking only says two days, so that's cool. We'll see

#9266 2 years ago
Quoted from desertT1:

The price has been reduced to reflect this time savings.

Double check. You have it listed for $5,500

#9275 2 years ago
Quoted from Hammerhead1550:

Did you get your from Game Exchange of Colorado? I have a premium on order from them, but no word about it shipping. With my luck Stern shorted them and I won't get mine.

Yeah, JJ said that they "split the batch". I ordered the pro in April.

Quoted from Greaseman:

Outlane posts?: It came with the right outlane post in the most difficult position (3rd slot away) and the left outlane post in the middle position.

My pro showed up like this as well and was curious. I think I'm fine with it but considering opening them both up. I think the torture is half the fun

#9389 2 years ago
Quoted from BubbaPin:

I see so many post for huo games that'll have like 200-400 plays or whatever

Also consider that unless something has changed with stern pins, resetting the code or updating will bring the play count back to zero. At least that was how it was pre-spike.

Not implying anyone on pinside is dishonest, but it could happen. I put little weight on total plays.

Quoted from ExSquid:

Can you or hopefully someone else send a picture of how they are supposed to look? Appreciate any help with this.

See the stack of leaf switches (circled)? Those should not be touching. As the newton gets hit, that pole is going to wiggle inside that little plastic cup. As it is hit and shifts positions, it should close those leaf switches.

Try getting that pole at a perfect height so those leaf switches are not touching when it is at rest, but VERY close so that when it gets hit, they close.

Hope this helps.

Quoted from Mancave:

Totally true!! but to be more precise the 2 blades closest to the plastic piece that has the cup on the end shouldn't be touching, the bottom blade/leaf is the adjuster for tension (for want of a better term)

Right. This could be another point of adjustment.

#9396 2 years ago
Quoted from ExSquid:

ugh, so I finally have it working but its still not enough? When you say to close, do you mean the screw? Because that's as tight as can be.

You'll want to make sure you know which switch is firing when you hit the flipper. In the diagnostics, you should look for a switch test. It's basically a mode that will show exactly which switch is being pressed. Once you're there, hit the flipper to determine which one is firing. If it's the newton ball, you'll need to go back and gap those leaf switches a bit more. It needs to be enough gap so that it doesn't touch with vibration, but not too much gap that it closes with vibration.

#9401 2 years ago

Yeah, go with medium. That's what mine is on. Not sure where you saw directors cut, but sounds interesting

You can always reset factory defaults if you don't care about your scores

#9458 2 years ago
Quoted from craif:

I know that I held off on buying mods or really any supplies for mine until I had it in hand.

I basically did the same thing. Now that I have it in hand, I went with he following.
Shaker motor
Real knocker kit
Cyborg Eddie from Prem
Piece of Mind eddie from Prem
Iron maiden keychain

That's it. I might consider blades (anyone with mirror blads? Pics?)

Quoted from OCP2:

Been a few days now with my nib pro, great pin but I started having 100% failure on my auto/manual launch after 2 days.

Going to try the fixes I’ve been reading about. It sucks cause i find the auto plunger really needs to be working properly for the multiball modes. I get lots of stdm off the left post then middle ramp.

Same. Mine was launching shallow and bricking into the post below the upper left upper flipper.

The very first step is to adjust the the lane guide itself. Here is what stern sent me. It's a 15 minute job that fixed the issue for me, but it's now failing again. I'm not sure about a more permanent fix as I would assume the wedge hack brings the launch lower?

Quoted from Anony:

Question though, I drive a Subaru Forester and have about 31.5 inches clearance from the bed to the roof.

I drive a forester and I've moved a few pins in it. I would imagine you're good.

Grab a dowel rod and set it under the pin once you start to load it. You can then "roll" the pin inside. It helps a great deal.

Quoted from Anony:

1. Stage flipping. How does this work mechanically? Both flippers are attached to a single leaf switch right? So how does letting off slightly make one flipper drop but not both?

It's not a single leaf switch. Partial button press will activate the first stage of the leaf, full push activates both stages. Try holding down the button part way, and you'll notice only the lower flipper activate. Full press = both flipper activated.

This is especially helpful in multiball if you are cradeling one ball, and shooting the other. You can open up the lanes up top by stage flipping.

I have my maiden pro in the breakroom at my office, and this has happened twice in two weeks. Anyone else experience this? Common issue, fix?

Quoted from PinMonk:

You're missing a guide wire on the right. In your picture, you can see the right hole where one of the legs goes.

Here's how it should look:

Mystery solved. Thank you kind sir.

Now to just figure out where it's floating around.
