Hi everyone, thinking of picking up an Iron Maiden pro. Can’t try it in the wild because of the pandemic closing down bars. I currently have a 1 pin collection consisting of the shadow. Based on videos and reviews it looks like something I would like. I’m also a fan of the music. Do you think this will be a good choice for a second pin? Thks

Thank you everyone for your input. I’ll post pics once I become an official member.

Quoted from Hammerhead1550:

Anyone getting a machine from the July run from Stern? I ordered a Premium and hope it gets here in July, and not delayed like the Munsters I ordered.

Gave a deposit for my pro in March.

My first NIB.

Never played the pin, buying purely based on the positive reviews and the fact that I’m a fan of the music.

Has anybody received or heard any news on the IM run that was supposed to happen towards the end of August? I gave my deposit in March.

Picked up my pro last night, I’m going to wait until the weekend to unbox it. Ordered it in March.

Been a few days now with my nib pro, great pin but I started having 100% failure on my auto/manual launch after 2 days.

Going to try the fixes I’ve been reading about. It sucks cause i find the auto plunger really needs to be working properly for the multiball modes. I get lots of stdm off the left post then middle ramp.

Quoted from damageinc55:

Same. Mine was launching shallow and bricking into the post below the upper left upper flipper.
The very first step is to adjust the the lane guide itself. Here is what stern sent me. It's a 15 minute job that fixed the issue for me, but it's now failing again. I'm not sure about a more permanent fix as I would assume the wedge hack brings the launch lower?

I’ve tried doing this but it didn’t work, might try playing with it again to get the sweet spot.

Quoted from RikeIsland:

This plagued my machine until I got it just right. I found if it was working for a while and suddenly starts missing again it’s time to clean and wax my playfield. That usually does the trick.

I’ll try this also, going to go down the checklist of solutions people have had with it.

Update: installed the shim, went from 100% failure ball hitting left post on the auto/manual plunger, to 100% success. Pin is set at 6.9 angle and ball eject power at default 255. I also had adjusted the shooter lane screw outwards, I’m not sure if it was the combination of both that did the job. Adjusting the shooter lane alone did not work.

I will also post this is the iron maiden issues thread in case someone misses it here. Thank you to everyone who posted the fixes. Now I can enjoy my trooper multi ball. Fingers crossed this does not come back.

Quoted from Anony:

My auto plunge has been missing a bunch lately and I noticed that they were definitely aware of this problem because they programmed trooper multi ball and ancient mariner to have fail out states for when they try to load balls into the orbit and it misses. For example you can have trooper multiball start without the three balls loaded and the charge callout if the machine notices the orbit was missed.

Have you tried the shim method? That plus adjusting the lane guide fixed mine 99% for both the auto and manual plunge.

I found when the balls didn’t load for trooper it took a lot of fun out of the game. It doesn’t bother some people, but it really annoyed me when it wasn’t working.

Quoted from Anony:

Mine has a cable tie or a little rubber ring around that post that helps punt the ball back into the playfield. I thought it was factory installed but maybe a previous owner added it to mine.

Its factory, my IM is nib and has the cable tie, but the ball still gets stuck there from time to time.

Quoted from pinballjah:

Shout out to Mr_Tantrum for helping me with the song name images. Very easy to replace, look just like the originals. Added Gangland, Children of the Damned and Invaders music and song images on start up.
File is available if anyone wants to try it.

Nice score, you guys must be good players. I struggle to break 200 million. Once the ball hits the slings it’s game over to the left outlane.
