Someone tell me I am not nuts .....

Went to an arcade to try out some new pins - mostly Munsters.
Maiden was not on my radar at all, but I but a few quarters in the Premium and kept coming back to it.

Is this one of the best new Sterns or not?
Not a huge fan of the music, but not a hater.
Art package and layout are awesome - really fun game.

Thinking of getting a premium -
Any non-Maiden fans have on in their collection?

#4080 5 years ago

Joining the club with a premium - my first NIB
Surprised myself - when this pin came out I discounted it rightway due to theme, was never on my radar (except for cool art)
Now I can't get "run to the hills" out of my head

FYI - my distributor told me Stern has about 18 more premiums in stock and no word if they are running any more (some distributors may also have stock)
Pros getting rerun in April

Quoted from NeilMcRae:

yeah saw them at TPF but I don't like the square I want the round lights.

me too

#4222 4 years ago

Joined the club last night
Does a shaker add anything to this game?

Quoted from PinMonk:

Yes. Best $100 you'll spend on Iron Maiden.

OK - I have one on TWD and it's suits that pin
just was not sure about it in this pin
didn't want to plop one in every pin just for the sake of it

#4253 4 years ago

OK ... so I can't get enough of this game and was looking at the stern flyer for the premium

https://sternpinball.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/IMDN-PREM.pdf

Where do I find the CPU mounted line-out audio connector and the other features listed?

#4267 4 years ago

I get a ton of air balls in this game - the center launch ramp doesn't help

#4285 4 years ago
Quoted from tilted81:

Hey gang not sure what’s up with it.. but the stern official maiden toppers are both 100 off right now at Marco. I looked at em as I was ordering a part I needed and quickly threw it in the cart and checked out! Get em while ya can boys n girls!
https://www.marcospecialties.com/control/keywordsearch?SEARCH_STRING=Stern+spi+topper+

Look like they are $300 which is normal price

#4287 4 years ago

thanks, $400 seems nuts for what these are, right?

#4309 4 years ago

need me some iron beer

Quoted from newtoit:

I just got a premium. What should i add. Pinstadium? Shaker? Anything else, maybe some protection?

Just got mine last week, have not added anything yet.
I have no issue with PF lighting so can't see adding pinstadium - probably shaker will be my first add

Quoted from NeilMcRae:

dood this is pinball. It's the cheapest ass hobby in the world. Unless you make yourself a royal pain in the arse nobody will do jack for you. You have to be relentless... on the phone, call you in an hour, call you soon, speak tomorrow, hey its me again...

Not entirely true.
I was the second owner on a TWD - original owner only had it for a few months - and stern sent me a replacement part at no cost. They didn't have to do that.
His warped PF looks really bad, but we also don't know the full story as to why stern won't send him a free replacement PF. There's got to be more to it.

Quoted from Multiballmaniac1:

Wow that’s terrible. I sold all my games. Decided to pay extra on mortgage and lay low. 2020 global recession will be fun. US auto sales are way down, there just not telling you yet that sh$t is about to hit the fan.

ok, let us know when you arise from the bunker

#4455 4 years ago
Quoted from mollyspub:

Any way to quite this down?

Crank up the music!!

Just added a Pinnovaters sub out card to a Polk Sub - really adds to the sound
I much prefer an external sub over upgrading the one on the bottom of the pin

Next mod is the shaker motor on it's way from Stern.

#4522 4 years ago
Quoted from f3honda4me:

I like upgrading the internal sub with pinwoofer kit, it adds more to the machine and you can FEEL the music and sounds!

Can feel it plenty with a large sub under the pin - and the quality is going to be better in both the amp, speaker components and enclosure designed to be a subwoofer not a pinball machine
+ I can't stand the machine rattling from base .. of course I am also not the guy driving down the street with his entire car rattling from subwoofers

#4525 4 years ago

f3honda4me crank it up and enjoy!

#4537 4 years ago
Quoted from thewool:

Anyone added an external sub to their IM? Did you use crocodile clips on the cab sub lugs, did it improve things?
Cheers.

I went with the pinnovators board as it was only $35
Have the clips on TWD - but for $35 figured I would try the board
Very happy with the sound.

http://www.pinnovators.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=48

Also, just installed a shaker - eh....
Probably could of done without it.
Much more suited to a game like TWD

#4557 4 years ago
Quoted from Boat:

IMo Pro, less time tweaking your game. No Newton ball issues, sarcophagus lock shot happens only a few times a game. Middle scoop is cool but I don’t like how it pops back out, should have been a subway return to your flippers.
Premium art is dope though.
To teach their own

I have 0 issues with it "popping back out" of the scoop
I may of missed it, but not heard of anybody else having issues with this either.

Premium is a good package for this title
Either way it's a great pin, go premium if you can afford it

#4565 4 years ago
Quoted from Boat:

I never said it was an issue, just a feature that could have been executed better is all.

Disagree, it's decent how it is now
Don't see how any design change would improve it or make it any better

#4566 4 years ago
Quoted from BillySastard:

J
All you need is speaker wire and alligator clips, roach clips, whatever you want to call them.
Clip the speaker wire to the +/- inputs on the pins sub then connect the other end to the powered sub. I've done this to all my games and it works like a charm.

I usually do this also, but went with a pinnovators sub out this time. It's inexpensive at $35 and works well

Quoted from IdahoRyan:

Anyone add a Pinball Life Shaker Motor to a PRO?
I just installed a shaker in my GOT Premium and it's ok.
Trying to see if it's worth it for the Iron Maiden Pro

I have the stern shaker, and it's eh...
could of done without it.

If you don't have one already, put the money in a subwoofer

IMDN is awesome - but I can't figure out what lights the extra ball
is it a certain number of orbits?

#5119 4 years ago
Quoted from Diospinball:

Okay... It seems the time has come for my first minor servicing for my Iron Maiden Prem. Right now I am having problems with the underworld scoop not registering every time. Some games it'll be like 4-5 in a row no issues and then I'll run into issues of it not registering 2-4 times in a row. And then it goes on so on and so forth.
I hope this is a simple fix, and just curious what I should be looking for.

I had the screws holding the scoop switch come loose, pop the hood and check it out

#5128 4 years ago
Quoted from Diospinball:

where would that be located?
Any suggestions on how to proceed to check out that switch?

Flip up the playfield and look directly under the scoop
Switch on my machine actually fell off and was hanging by the wires - screws were down in the cabinet

Coindropper
Thanks for the cards they look great
I usually like the one card to list the designer, coder, artist instead of being blank

#5229 4 years ago
Quoted from Coindropper:

Updated cards a bit. You’ll have to scroll down because I linked all of the original resolution so they’ll need to be resized when you print. A few new ones too and updated the font.
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/custom-apron-cards-printable-versions-only#post-5153032

Awesome, is it possible to add credits to the blank card : designer, coder, art etc....

#5310 4 years ago
Quoted from Yesh23:

I just joined the club because I love the pin but not a huge fan of the music. I believe someone change the original tracks to classic rock, where would one find this?

Give the music a chance, it's better then most people assume

#5330 4 years ago
Quoted from Gogdog:

Pretty sure it uses a 3/16" driver. You probably just need a slightly bigger toolset that includes the smaller sizes.

Yeah, get a set of magnatized driver's, makes it much eaiser

I know this game doesn't have the flash of/and looks barren compared to JJP's GnR
BUT - dam this is a fun game!!!!!
Probably one of the best playing games currently around.
Was going to trade mine for a GNR but I can't stop playing it
