Get back to playing. You’re wasting valuable game time. Lol. I love this game. Epic.

Oh yeah one more interesting thing. My game came with the bally/Williams type corner brackets. Another friend of mine has a pro and his doesn’t have them, how about you guys, does your game have them?[quoted image]

Either does my premium ...WOW

#2004 5 years ago

Mine did NOT. But it did include a laughable version of leg protectors and the noisiest fan you ever heard. Luckily, it only goes off every few minutes. And my plunger/autoplunger sucks balls...

Jk, I love mine, sooo fun! People come play it and laugh out loud from playing. I say JK but it IS all true...

#2005 5 years ago

Congrats buddy! B/W brackets are awesome. Has Uncle Gary finally come to his senses? Hope so.

#2006 5 years ago

my pro came with the B/W brackets as well. build date July 17. I just checked after reading this.

#2007 5 years ago

Congrats to the new owners!

Hope BW type corner brackets are “a thing” going forward.

I added mine on, but stern really needs to do this at the factory. Hope it continues.

Here is A snippet of a convo on the way to kindergartenalmost 5 months ago......

J my 6 year old son “ Dad can we listen to 2 min to midnight on way to school again?”

Me “Of course bud”

J “ I love Iron Maiden dad”

Me “Hey bud maybe we should get the new IMDN Pinball game. It looks epic! We might have to sell the hobbit...”

J “No dad I love that game, it’s..”

Me interrupting “ Actually bud it’s really not that great of a”

J “But I love the movies”

Me “ Yeah buddy, they sure are great(hiding my disgust). Tell you what let’s go ahead with the swap, and we will have the game in no time!”

And today was the day. Of course his First game he picks 2m to midnight.

A few things I found:

Shipped with 1.02 code I think.

Someone on this forum has scratches that run long down the playfield, under the clear. I’ve got them as well. You have to be in perfect light to see them. Doesn’t bug me...

Looks as if there were brackets for the corners ala wms brackets.

The auto plunger and pull work 85%. Auto plunge worked every time except once.

Ball lock sarcophagus works like a champ

I’ve put about 40 games on imdn prior to this arriving so I had high expectations. Also followed this thread close so I’d be in the know. Very satisfied with everything so far

Today is an epic day for me,
Setting up this amazing game and to find it flawless out of the box is incredible!

IMDN has been a dream theme for me and many others for a number of years now, and thanks to the awesome driving force from the pinball community around the world it has happened.

Huge thanks to Fans, Pinheads in all the forums, Pinball clubs, groups and meets, Stern Pinball, Keith Elwin and team for making this happen!
What a way to do it………………… Just Sensational!

I'm turning 51 this year, feeling like a 12 year old is great!
Up the Irons!

Cheers,
Ando

How do you really adjust the autoplunger?

The autoplunger seems centered, while the manual plunger seems off, but with full force on the manual it goes around the loop, while autoplunger always rattles into the upper left flipper or just inside the loop.

Congrats on your new game. Your son will remember these pinball moments for the rest of his life and hopefully pinball will keep you guys hanging out together even after he gets older. How does he like IMDN compared to Hobbit? My playfield had a few scratches in it as well, im not sure why this is happening. You cant see them unless you are looking for them in the right light but this still shouldnt be happening and it’s unacceptable in my opinion. Congrats on your nee game, she’s a beauty!

Question for you LE guys. Even with the backbox turned down there is still a good amount of reflection. Does the invisiglass reduce it. I had it on my WOZ and LOTR and it was great but those games didn't reflect like Maiden.

What % did you turn the backglass down to? I found that it needed to be set to 10% to get rid of the reflection.

After adding a red-lit TWD to my collection, I swapped out the red GI on my LE to make it stand out a little more. I replaced the bottom half of the playfield with purple 1SMD LEDs and couldn't be happier with how it turned out. It matches the purple plastics and white GI perfectly (especially during Fear of the Dark). I left the top half of the playfield red to match the artwork, but I'm still considering replacing a few of them with purple too (like the red LEDs on the left side of the playfield - under the eddie figure and under the left ramp).

The purple makes it much easier on the eyes too...

IMDN Half Purple GI (resized).jpgIMDN Half Purple GI (resized).jpg

Edit: Also, in case someone else is interested in trying this out, the LED just above the shooter lane is also purple instead of the stock red. I tried both colors on this spot and the purple definitely provided a smoother transition between the purple GI of the bottom half of the playfield and the red GI of the top half. Now that I think about it, maybe a yellow or orange LED would fit even better...

It definitely does. If you decide to buy after market, don't buy stern or the original invisiglass. The other, third brand, is way better. The name escapes me, but I have all three brands and Stern's is not as good.

#2028 5 years ago

I'm glad that I held off getting a IMDM. "Do You Want To Know A Secret" When I Beatles get released it will be the same playfield. When That Happens I'll, "Twist and Shout".

It's PDI, and it is the best. But my eyes are struggling to see a big difference between that and the Stern. JJP being third for me, noticeably not as clear.
Timebandit I need some spotlights like that pronto. Did you just wire them into the flashers? A quick "how-to" would be awful sweet of ya.
Terry did ya get any sleep last night lol?

Lol not much Gryszzz, not much at all. This game is too good!

#2031 5 years ago

I set mine to like 3% during play and only 40% on attract. Less is more! I wish there was a 2 or 3 second fade between the two.

I like the purple. Not crazy about the red. I thought about white but I like the red in fear of the dark. Purple would be a good middle ground. GI color options would be a nice feature in the adjustments, don't you think?

I'm not seeing the Beatles + pinball appeal. Don't get me wrong, the Beatles are great. But pinball goes better with hard rock or metal imo. I'd be perfectly happy to see the same lay out on Archer, Keith's original design, but I'm thinking Stern has other plans for him... IMDN is incredible, so that will be your loss.

#2034 5 years ago

Guys....buy a $5 bent plastic and problem pretty much solved. I have my bb dimmed to like 25% and it's great. Not sure how much of that is the Stern fancy glass, I'm guessin that's part of it.

#2035 5 years ago

Further tweaking of the autoplunger has been effective. I made sure there was no play at the base of the autoplunger mech, where the hinge is located. I also kept the "prongs" fairly wide, but touching the ball on both sides. It is 100% since I adjusted it early this week. Hope it stays!

#2036 5 years ago

I'm not seeing the Beatles and pinball either. But I will try to refrain from shitting on someone's dream theme. Until the reveal.

Was this a kit you bought?

#2041 5 years ago
Quoted from gearhead:

Was this a kit you bought?

Just made from stuff on hand. I make a lot of stuff like this. It’s just wires, connectors and a step down converter.

#2042 5 years ago

Is all that necessary? I was gonna do that to, but I was just going to connect them to existing GI lights. Is there some reason you can't do that on a spike system?

#2043 5 years ago
Quoted from gearhead:

Is all that necessary? I was gonna do that to, but I was just going to connect them to existing GI lights. Is there some reason you can't do that on a spike system?

All what necessary? Wires and a $2 converter to take 12v down to 6.3v? Yes, there is a reason, because I don’t go anywhere near anything connected to a node board. That backbox header there is a robust, constant 12v designed for offtake. Plug into that and you have zero risk of blowing a node board.
Connect alligator clips to a GI socket if you like, but as long as node boards are $300 and blow if you look at them sideways I’m not going anywhere near anything that might be connected to them.

And as a matter of general design quality, if there is a proper connection to use, then using it is preferable.

I’ve actually got a third installed up a bit higher, on top of the orb shot. Running off that 12v offtake you could keep piling on heaps of lighting. I just treat the wire harness as a rail and keep pressing IDC connectors in where I need them.

Just solder them in to the existing GI ( that way they are controlled ) or cab node 5v. Its two LED spots not a string . I added 2 spots already and have been running them for weeks.

Has anyone had any sound issues with their game? I was playing mine yesterday and something changed in the sound. It almost sounded like it went from stereo to mono or something. It seems like it lost its bass and the cabinet speaker sounds like shit when you stick your head under the cabinet and listen to it. It sounds like the speaker is blown or something but it isnt. I also put another speaker in it and it sounds the same so that rules the speaker out. I cant hardly describe it but i know something has changed and isnt right. They are telling me to redownload the software at stern and we will go from there, but i dont think that is going to d anything. Im almost thinking that i may have a sound board issue.

I dimmed my back box down to 10% during gameplay and that took all of the glare away. No need for the bent plastic if you take her down to 10%. Im glad that feature is on there because the glare was driving me crazy.
