Quoted from YeOldPinPlayer:

Since tightening the leg bolts puts equal pressure on the inside and the outside of the cabinet at the same time over tightening the bolts can't be a factor in cabinet splitting. The threads will strip before any wood damage.

looking good sir!

I can vouch for him - great seller and killer product. I would think these would be a must for IMDN LE if the decals are fragile.

THANK YOU!!

Quoted from T-800:

For those interested, I put together a quick comparison chart of how I personally think the Pro plays versus the Premium/LE. I bought a pro back in April and had the opportunity to play it in depth and really get to know the game. A local pinball bar recently put in an LE and I also had the opportunity to put a few hours of play on that over the last couple of weeks. I have since sold my pro and have put an order on a premium. The decision was extremely tough however - the value of the pro really can't be topped, it probably represents the theme of Iron Maiden the "band" best, is most likely to have the fewest issues and will likely hold it's value better than a premium, but... even with all that, I personally wanted a game with all the features and experience it to it's fullest and closest to how I think the original designer wanted it. I also love Iron Maiden music, have limited game room space, and the extra grand or two to upgrade wasn't a big deal for me.
With that, here's a quick snapshot of what I recall were the key differentiators between the models and my personal opinions on them. Hopefully this helps someone who is sitting in a similar spot as me a few weeks ago struggling to decide whether to go pro or upgrade...

This is a cool list, but on the LE (and I think the premium) fear of the dark dims the White GI so you are left with just red. It’s awesome and deserves some credit!

I've read many people don't like the red GI.

Some people just can’t be pleased..

#1107 5 years ago

#476 has arrived. I did decide the change out the 4 red GI near the flippers. May change more, but those ones are easy to get to and higher impact.

I went with warm comet retro. I am hoping fear of the dark will still feel different, but not be red. Also I think the red really looked bad on the plastic art. I was not sure if mixing warm and cool was going to workout, but I like it.

I haven't changed my red GI yet cause

--I do like the Fear of the Dark mode lighting.
But red Eddie ain't so hot.

Not only fear of the dark but when you qualify a mummy multiball jackpot it goes dark too. I would never change the red.

Me either.. if you're looking at the slingshot plastics for the detail on Eddy's face during fear of the dark you're doing it wrong..

Well where else would I look?
Nowhere. That's where.

Nice. So much better. The red is awful.

Thanks for having me over for the unboxing, it was a blast.

No Maiden yet, figure I would use this opportunity to order a pack of IMDN brew for unboxing.

For those interested-
Brewery Notes:
TROOPER is a Premium British Beer inspired by Iron Maiden and handcrafted at Robinsons brewery. Malt flavors and citric notes from a unique blend of Bobec, Goldings and Cascade hops dominate this deep golden ale with a subtle hint of lemon.

MF.
Just had my best game yet. On ball 3, just lit 2x scoring with 199m. Get my 3rd ball in secret passage and the motherfucker stays there till ball search and misses the lock, falls into the orbit. Goddamnit.
I'm still on .94....wondering if I should update. These node board shenanigans got me all nervous Nellie.
Good game for ole bumblefingers.

This happens to me all the time, even on the latest code. Shoot the left ramp, and the ball just sits there waiting for ball search. UGH. Also seem to have a problem with the underworld on occasion. The ball goes in, and a few seconds later it spits it out without going into the mode.

Anyone else having issues with the ball not being seen when trying for sarcophagus lock?

I was thinking about this a bit. What if it was a white light, with a red light tube like at the back on fireball. Maybe you could illuminate white up, and red out.

Still recovering from surgery, so I haven't opened it up to look are those switches, or optos up there?

#1119 5 years ago

Mine has been working fine last 3 days. Prob because I haven't locked 3 balls in sarcophagus again.
Anyone install 2 extra spotlights on slings yet? I'm ready to, but concerned about overloading since it's Spike. Valid concern?

I know everyone doesn't follow the mod thread, but this is an easy and affordable mod anyone can do to improve the look of the orb shot.

1. Flipped the current led board upside down so it shine upward.

2. I drilled a small hole in the plastic to allow the light from LED to shine through

3.I added a small globe from a string of lights and lightly sanded it to give it a cloudy appearance.

4. I added a colored piece of plastic/paper as a diffuser (I chose blue for now).

Edited to add a link to the mod thread that has more details.

Can you offer a couple more angles and a shot of one of the orbs off the machine? Is the board in the same place, just flipped? How is the orb attached? Thanks!

How are ball times on the game? If you had to rank the five games below based on average ball time where would Iron Maiden fit?

Iron Man
TWD
Metallica
Dialed In
Iron Maiden

I haven’t put enough time on Dialed In, but I own/owned the other four.

From fastest ball time to longest, I would go.

Iron Man
Walking Dead
Iron Maiden
Metallica

Ive owned all these minus DI.

TWD can have very quick ball times; but so can IMDN. All games can be setup hard for short ball times; that said, it's the progression of a game that really factors into game times. Is it quick progression? long progression? wood chopping progression? Another thing that I factor in with game times is do I want to hit start again when ball 3 drains because it was fun or because it pissed me off?

So while TWD can have very quick ball times and be brutal, progression is deep and when you get zoned in can have very long ball times - although, I have not played the new code where you can opt out of Horde mode yet. I can have 10 short games of TWD and one very long one. And usually when ball 3 drains on TWD, im pissed cause it was a cheap drain that I had no chance of keeping my game alive.

Metallica usually doesn't piss me off like TWD does; it's a very fun game, but when I start thinking of how much work is involved to progress, im usually done after a game or 2 and good and satisfied.

Iron Man has perfect appeal for one more game. It doesn't take long to get the adrenalin pumping. The only problem with Iron man is it's bit of a one hit wonder; i.e. shallow rules. Not a bad thing as it compliments the brutality but hasn't lasted the long haul in a small collection for me personally both the times I owned it. Would like to try again sometime, though I don't know if it'll last long again.

Ive never owned dialed in and only have about a dozen plays on it on location. Owners talk about its brutality, but I don't see it. I always have a long game on location and its progression is very linear - phone scoop, mode, phone scoop, mode. It has 3 wizard modes but they have to be played in linear fashion; So while the game is very fun and very immersive, the linear structure doesn't appeal to me.

IMDN is still too early to tell on its last ability factor. But as far as game times; they reside somewhere between TWD and Metallica. The thing IMDN does so well is there's so much breadth and depth that when ball 3 drains you feel like 'oh man, so close to opening up the next wizard mode' or 'oh I was so close to opening quadruple and quintuple jackpots' or 'I was so close to getting that mummy super' or 'oh man I got a 90 mil power jackpot, how much can I get next time' or 'whoa, I got 4 pharaoh awards, how many can I get next time' ...you get the point, there is a ton to discover, do, and achieve. So when ball 3 drains; I typically feel like I had a great fun time (hardly ever pissed) and I really want to press start again. The game is crack.

Hope this answers your question

I think this is generally pretty accurate. You could probably just tack DI on the end, after Metallica.

STERN’S IRON MAIDEN LE UNBOXING, ARTWORK, REVIEW, AND GAMEPLAY VIDEO.

Stern’s newest game Iron Maiden LE has been unboxed, played, and reviewed. Wow, what a game. I played Iron Maiden Pro a bunch of times and liked it. I was still on the fence about really liking the game with the possibly of owning one. Well, after playing the LE my opinion has changed. What a fantastic game. Artwork, rules, game play, etc, Iron Maiden LE is the full package. Probably in my opinion one of Stern’s best.

Pinball Browser to swap out sounds.

#1138 5 years ago

I wasn't aware there is a mode on the LE/Premium that is exclusive i.e not on the pro.

Cool addition for owners.

#1139 5 years ago

Was just listening to Head2Head podcast where they interviewed KME and Keith mentioned that the LE/Premium had an exclusive mode "Can I play with Madness" which is the 3rd tomb award. He said they pulled it from the Pro because it relies heavily on the lift ramp/scoop which made it not work well on the Pro. Just wondering for those that have played it how the mode is and how it fits into the overall rules? Is it stackable with other modes/multiballs and does it change overall scoring much? Can you earn Soul Shards, etc. I think this is the first time since Tron LE where the Pro model is actually missing a game mode. Kind of bummed to hear this mode won't be coming to my Pro since it was on the original Stern "Backstage Pass" rule guide and it seems to be the one song that isn't represented in the Pro ruleset. I'll trust Keith though and think that it's probably for the best that they pulled it if it didn't work well with the layout. Still love my game and think it's incredible!

I think the third tomb award on the Pro is typically "add 15 million to power jackpot" which can be pretty lucrative with multipliers! Still a pretty big change from the LE/Premium as the third award is quite attainable in an average game. That's why I was kind of curious as to how valuable the Madness mode is.

It's bad ass. The ramp flap moves up and down and you need to time a shot right to hit the scoop. It's not a game changer, but it is cool.
