These are great and relatively inexpensive complete replacements for the side rails, but with built-in button guards. $59.

I’d request a new ramp from Stern. Show them the video and they should take care of you.

Depends when you bought it.

I had NIB with this fault.

Noticed it straight away and clearly it was a manufacturing fault, and Stern then sent me a replacement

I had to say something to the group who will really understand my perspective. I just logged play number 3085 on my Pro. This game is even more fun now than it was on day one. It is just a masterpiece. Intensity, pinball moments, so many things to do and paths to take. Every game gives a chance to do something better than you ever have before. And I've still battled the beast (and got hammered) only two or three times. This game is the Platonic ideal of pinball.

Finally had some time to start my project yesterday .Getting close to freeing up a bunch more for summer .The light blue T mold changes everything .I’m not sure yet but one will go on the game and the other will be hung behind it in a lighted frame .The back glass looks a lot better than I originally thought with the change .Rubbers look great .I was pissed I just ordered new coil sleeves and lamp I needed then I seen I needed more .I’m going with post sleeves in colors to match the art around it and the yellow flippers gotta go .Black is where it’s at for this pin .This week I’ll get the armor off and take it to the Artist I have to stay mum on that because it’s going to blow your mind .I have a couple other ideas still playing around with .3D Anubis will be airbrushed like is on the trans light .I’ll post as I go and as always “UP THE IRONS”.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions on the rail. I got the lip removed and it’s working perfectly.

Back to the flipper strength issue… the bottom right and top right are weak. The top right is like a sponge it’s so bad. It barely moves the ball and won’t even travel the full distance if obstructed. It’ll flip fully when not though. The assembly seems fine…? I don’t know what else to try beyond moving the bat higher/lower.

Bottom right isn’t as bad, but quite weak compared to the left and upper left.

After activating your flipper, can you push it back down with your finger. Most likely your bottom right flipper is the cause of your upper right being weak. I would really look at both coil stops and then check your eos switch gap. It could also be a broken flipper bushing in one of the flippers. Are you getting any resistance, maybe one of the plungers are binding.

Maybe check the gap between the bottom of the flipper and the top of the flipper bushing to make sure it's not binding and the weight of the ball makes it so it can't get all the way up. The confusing part is you can free-flip and the flipper fully extends if there's no ball on it. It only gimps out if there's the weight of the ball on it. Makes me think there's binding of the bushing, coil sleeve, or coil stop.

Maybe the EOS switch is inadvertently open, keeping it in low power mode. Just a WAG.

Quoted from FLASHBALL:

Not sure how, but over time the ball guide on my friends Maiden has formed a lip. Assuming from the ball smacking it over and over. Is this common? Ive filed the lip off and Im trying to get the auto launch to hit the loop consistently.
Currently im at about 70% which is good. But still 30% hits the black post just beneath the loop.
I haven't been completely through this thread but what is the recommended power setting for the launch?
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Besides file the burr off. If you move the ball guide down, away from the post, it will most likely make the loop more consistently.
When the ball hits the black post beneath the loop it is most often because it has first hit the tip of the upper right flipper.

#8819 2 years ago
Quoted from PinMonk:

Good point PinMonk. I was thinking EOS was implemented entirely at the flipper. So I lifted my IMDN PF, and the EOS indeed does head off somewhere.

So the OP should do a EOS switch test in the service menu, as you suggested.

Thanks for the tip, I never even considered the ball clipping the tip of that flipper. I'll try that!

Same here. I finally took a small file to mine. Barely had a lip on the rail, but 6 out of 6 shots were OK afterwards. 3 plunges and 3 autofire.

Case closed, hopefully.

Thanks to all those that commented on the rail.

Quoted from tbaum:

This just started happening to me after I re-waxed the playfield, but on the right side - I'm going to need to check my rails now too.

You can often solve this by adding a washer or two under the bottom rail mount to very slightly raise the end of the rail up and lower the angle of it, thus slowing the ball slightly.

Thanks. IMDN Pro is my first and only machine so far. The family and I are really enjoying it. I've added a few mods so far. I see us getting another machine in the future.

I picked up the Night version for mine. I think the color looks a letter better with the Pro art. Here's the link to it. I can't seem to upload the image.

I went back and forth on the 2 version. I ended up choosing the lighter one because the PF and backboard blend into the lighter one better. The only "dark" is in the backglass. I don't think you can go wrong with either version.

I might try this, as it seems to be a different issue that the one Soulstoner had. On my ramps, the ball just hits the end so hard it pops up.

I thought that was the cause of my issue as well, until I took a slo-mo video from the side and saw it catching a lip and bouncing before the end.

Trying taking a slo-mo vid if you're able to be sure.

So, I think I've figured out what is causing the low flipper strength, but I'm pulling my hair out trying to fix it for good.

Basically, it seems like the coil is moving around slightly during gameplay/flips, causing some binding in the flipper mechanism, weakening the flipper. I can forcefully adjust it into place, then play a ball, and watch that same flipper fade in strength in real time.

I guess a more accurate description of the issue is that when the coil's square plastic is flush with the flipper assembly, there is binding. When it is slightly askew, it's in perfect alignment. So, is the flipper assembly loose and needs to be adjusted/replaced, or is this coil not centered properly in its housing?

Anybody have any ideas?

Edit: added a GIF showing it moving back into binding position after a few flips.

It looks to me like the coil sleeve is not seated properly in the bracket. The tip of the sleeve should be protruding into the bracket and perfectly centered. Remove the bracket and reseat it. You may need to replace the sleeve if it is damaged.

I think I've managed to solve it with a simple washer under one screw of the coil mount, offsetting it just enough to put it perfectly in place. Played 10 games or so with some good strength in the flipper. Success!

I also noticed these coils heating up extremely fast, so I ordered a fan cooling kit from PinMonk to keep that nonsense to a minimum. First game I've felt the need to do this for.

#8835 2 years ago

Any ideas on where to get a -15 plastic without buying the whole replacement set?

Issue with my Iron Maiden pro today, wanted to see if anyone has had a similar issue and what the fix could be. Updated to the 1.08 code when it came out, no issues on the update, play a bunch of games since the update. Powered the game up today and getting "Locating Node Boards - 9 - Node Not Found" (see picture). I've reseated the cat5 cables between the node 9 board (back left of playfield) to the cpu and the node 8 board (front left of playfield); and no change, still getting the error.

After about 30 seconds of sitting on the error screen the game will boot and is playable, but the top half (basically everything above the Eddie cards) is out for lights and no switches.

My guess is the node 9 board is dead? Or an issue with the cpu? Anything else I could try?

Reseat ALL the connections on node 9, and also the ones at the CPU board.

If that doesn't work you can swap node 9 and node 8 (changing the dip switches on each board to tell the machine that they're the opposite board now - chart is in the manual) and see if the problem travels. If it does, then you probably have a diode leg that came off the board or something like that. Hit up Borygard - he can repair them in many cases.

Report back what you find!

My simple washer did not last long as I’m back to weak flips.

Looking at all these coil sleeves, it seems that none of them extend outside of the coil. They all end perfectly with the end of the coil. Not sure why this is, but I guess I’ll order some more to see if they’re longer.

Mine are definitely on the edge, but they protrude out. Maybe you can try to reseat that bracket. It might be squished in there.

Take your coil out and try to push the sleeve in further. Sometimes when a coil heats up the sleeve will get stuck in the coil.

#8842 2 years ago

The sleeve should extend 1/16” to 1/8” outside of the coil when fully seated. This part needs to be centered in the coil bracket to align the plunger and to make sure the plunger is not rubbing on the metal bracket.

Yeah these sleeves definitely do not extend outside of the coil (on all 4 flippers). I've dis-assembled all of them and re-seated the sleeves with no change.

So far, Maiden has that (as cliché as it is to say) "one more game" feeling, as I press the start button immediately after draining ball 3. Even if I'm pissed at it, I'm determined to get good at this game. The only other games that have had that effect for me were Rick & Morty and Deadpool. TMNT and JP did not command that kind of dedication.

My buddy just got an LE and I was helping setup. A couple of questions-

Never seen lit up side art, took me a second to figure out what the inverter and ribbon cables were going to, but pretty cool. That’s a mod right?

Also, the black cable that is rolled up on sitting on the cabinet, what is that? One side says Coin Door, the other side Bill Val Voltage but it’s obviously not plugged in, and I believe a Stern branded cable.

Awesome game, now I need one!
