Quoted from BMore-Pinball:

I know this game doesn't have the flash of/and looks barren compared to JJP's GnR
BUT - dam this is a fun game!!!!!
Probably one of the best playing games currently around.
Was going to trade mine for a GNR but I can't stop playing it

I own both IM premium and GNR LE and they are both great. They’re so different from each other in wonderful and refreshing ways. GNR is blowing my mind in it’s intensity and risk/reward rules but I still go back to Maiden in the same evening and am always reminded how fun and fast it is. IM will never leave my game room. It’s my favorite Stern, even over the JP2 I own(also great though.) I think it’s just an amazing era of game design we’re living in(although playfield issues seriously need to be resolved.)

I need some help. I am about to do a Titan rubber swop and I can’t decide what colors I want to go with. I am also not sure if I should get the low bounce flipper rubber or their standard. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Standard bounce, with purple or yellow.

As for ring colors, i normally keep it pretty boring with clear or white.

I don’t really like Titans posts and prefer Cliffys, but I think purple or yellow there too.

Im about ready to reorder myself. 2yrs on mine now. Dark blue with orange upper flippers. Only way to go. If you go a little bit more like i did, i put yellow by the left ramp and a green one behind the drops. Standard stock Stern post sleeves are my preference on this one though.

After 2 years on route Eddie is home and ain’t leaving! Even after playing GNR, TMNT and AIQ a bunch (and loving all 3), IMDN still shoots awesome and is an overall impressive game.

I ordered the premium figures to retrofit on the pro and got the right figure on, any tips on how to mount the Piece Of Mind Eddie (w/ his separate mounting bracket)?

Also is there a good material/trick to preventing the right figures guns from going limp? I don’t think action figures can take viagra.

First I mounted mine the same as Apremium. The figure started to lean forward and hunch over.

Next I tried a Pinsider suggestion to lean his knee in the habitrail and use hot glue for his feet. That worked for awhile but raise playfield caused glue to come loose.

Finally I mounted his left food with pop bumpers crew (linger screw)and knee supported by habitrail.

Since this is going to be a keeper, I ended up buying the Egyptian Eddie figure and I’m trying to find a spot to put it. This is the only area that makes sense currently so I’ll see if I can make a bracket for it once I get the placement nailed down. I’ll probably end up buying the pro figures as well so I can get rid of the crappy plastic ones.

I dont get the figures thing. This isnt Monster Bash. The focus isnt the Eddie characters. Maiden is an amazing shooter with basically zero focus on toys or mechs. I feel like all these figures people buy just seem out of place and in some cases just tacky.

I'd clean 'em all out on purchase like I do clown puke. Each 'is own, I suppose.

Little harsh, don't you think? Plus, the Prem and LEs came with 2 molded figures on the playfield, so it's hardly "zero focus on toys or mechs".

I actually agree with you in general, I'm not a fan of *any* figures on playfields, always struck me as kind of lame - "look at the little toy batman", or whatever. In fact, I recently purchased a DP Pro over the Prem because I preferred the art package, and I didn't want the figures on the playfield.

Having said that, I kind of went nuts when I got my IMDN LE and I'm fine with it on this game. I went high-end and I think it turned out pretty great... except sometimes it still bothers me that I have action figures on my pinball game.

In any case, each to their own, they are all just big toys anyway.

You downvoted my comment, misquoted it, then agreed with it and went on to bash toys being added to games in a harsher way than anything in my original comment.
So, ...we agree?
You are a hard man to follow sir

#7571 3 years ago

Yeah I'm not a fan of putting toys in a game. If it makes people happy to play around and add mods, toys, or whatever then they should. Why not do what makes them happy. Lots of the mod makers here make great looking mods. Would be a better choice in my opinion. But the gluing and strapping down random toys or action figures is not for everyone.

Could Stern be that intelligent as to release the next Maiden update with the live album? It’ll include the new Jukebox feature, and AD/DC has live tracks, so....

I didn't downvote you, but I disagree with the assumption. Eddie is such an iconic figure for the band and is featured so much on the pinball backglass, cabinet, and playfield. If you look at the other Stern music pins, most of them have the band members plastered all over the backglass. Plus, Eddie is like a spokesperson for the band, like Jacky is for Aerosmith and Sparky is for Metallica. You can't shoot for a mode in the game without in some shape or form advancing Eddie, like rescuing him from the tower.

Growing up during the band's heyday, I didn't really care for their music. However, I thought the Eddie character and the album covers were so bad ass and I'm so glad Stern focused the pin on the character and I couldn't imagine having one without him. Therefore, if some pinheads want to add more Eddie to their pin, then I say go for it.

#7575 3 years ago

Not necessarily disagreeing but my thoughts...
As you mentioned, Eddie is already prevalent on the game. It not Eddie himself that bothers me so much as look of these Eddie toys. Most look like cheap action figures and most seem excessive is all. The piece of mind Eddie works but the rest are just Eddie overload to me. It not like every shot represents a different Eddie and needs another figure. I installed a flat plastic mummy Eddie (mezel i believe) at the Mummy MB. That all i felt was needed for my tastes. (from a guy who dropped far too mich money into Metallica mods. Snake ramp, cemetary arch, etc). Anyway, i feel like this is a mountain from molehills thing now. I dont have an issue if someone adds toys. No downvotes for them. I just personally dont like it for this game and was sharing my thoughts.

Sidenote: Big Metallica fan. I dont consider Sparky a representative of the band. Sure he is there but id never have thought twice about him if i erent also a pinball guy. Insuspect the same could be said about "jackie" jester as id never seen the character until pinball but i cant stand Aerosmith anyway (the band or the game)

As cool as this would be, I have a difficult time believing that they would add an entire new album worth of tracks (that the band wants you to purchase) to a pinball machine that's at the end of it's run. There's been other videos from IM where he's standing in that same room talking, I'm guessing he jumped over to the pin to change it up a bit.

Fytr Where did you get your ramp decals?

#7581 3 years ago
Quoted from xeneize:

fytr Where did you get your ramp decals?

Tilt Graphics. They offer a short and a full ramp option. I have the full ramp but if I had to do it again I'd probably go short, the reason being you have to pretty much cut the decals in half and trim them to make them actually fit on the ramp, was a major PIA.

http://www.speakerlightkits.com/5.25-SPIKE-2-Speaker-Plates.html

...the speakers are NOT included. The Kenwood KFC-1366s speakers that have been in the recent Stern LE games can be found at quite a few on-line sellers. I have personally bought sets from amazon and ebay.

https://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-KFC-1366S-5-25-Inch-Coaxial-Speaker/dp/B079SFC3P9/ref=sr_1_1

Other 5.25" speakers should work fine also.

Just got my NIB pro on Monday. This game is so much fun, I play it for hours each night. Seems to be playing really well and the ball isn't getting stuck or anything like that and shots are registering well. Best so far is 377m w/ my first cyborg mb!

Question though...

Is the feed from the upper-right down to the right flipper (if you leave the upper-right flipper down) supposed to go to the right flipper?

Mine is hitting the top of the right slingshot. If yes, any thoughts on adjustments? Upper-right flipper just a little? I am going to get a digital level but I have it leveled as best as I can tell with the built-in level and the side to side.

Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks, -Jake

Yep, just adjust the top right flipper a smidge until it is feeding to the bottom right

Although they've gotten better, remember that this is Stern we're talking about. This game is essentially forgotten, and we'll be lucky, very lucky, if we get a much-needed code update for just bugs.

Gary's padding the pockets and trying to compete with emerging companies right now. IMDN code is the least of his concerns.

#7587 3 years ago

Finally installed my pin monk Anubis that was painted so graciously by Arkin s daughter.

Man what an ordeal.

The holes didn't line up perfectly, so had to file out a very tiny amount to line it up on the mounting points. No big deal.

Once installed decided to test the motor to make sure movement was all good and of course, the motor switches are now not activating.
Had to bend one of the diverter tabs as it was hitting the ramp rather than going through the cutout.

The 2 minute install lasted closer to 60.

But hey, that's pinball!
