Quoted from Kkoss24:

That’s my nemesis...keeps me up at night...the right ramp owns my ass!

Tough ass shot. Feel like I have a better chance hitting it from a cradle.

NOTB is a ball buster though. Been there twice, and lost ball right after ball save stopped. Just zaps all the fun.

Quoted from Kkoss24:

Out of all the shots, that's the one I hate the most because I suck so bad at hitting it consistently

#7103 3 years ago

Haha, That's what makes Maiden so awesome !

The right ramp is sometimes easy, only tough when you really want it. Just perfect KME.

The left outlane still kills me most.

Such a challenging game with decent code.

Still hoping there is resources there for a sweet code polish or 2 to reach perfection.

Agree..speaking of code!!! do i have to wait til i'm old for the long awaited update?? scratch that.. already old Old and Krusty then??

Ball 1: extra ball, 3 cards, 4 modes, 600M. Final score 670M as I burned most of the rest of the game bricking ramp shots and draining. This game can be infuriating.

I feel your pain. I absolutely love to hate this pin.

Quoted from remf:

Looks like I’m finally pulling the trigger on my first nib pin and decided to get the IMDN pro! is there anything I need to ask the distributor or look out for like which build date that has issues, etc.?

Just whether or not they have one in stock? I'm under the impression that they're currently tough to come by, but that they were supposed to hit the line again in July (not sure if that happened or not).

#7108 3 years ago

Should the knocker fire on IMDN when you get a replay? Mine fires on match, but not replay.

Quoted from pickleric:

Depends what reward you have set for replay. Free credit should fire the knocker.

Thought I had lower orb worked out but then tonight happened .At first I was just playing w screws then tried washers up to playfield hoping to get plate in right range to tighten down .What is the real end all fix ?

Yep, confirmed it’s in stock and I’m speaking with him tomorrow to get things wrapped up. I did here from another distributor that it’s set to come out sometime in September, but who knows if there will be any delays or not.

#7112 3 years ago

Lighted speaker panels FTW! Just did IMDN to complete the row.

i was really hoping an intelligent mod-maker would find a better solution to those awful newton ball targets within the boundaries of the current installation. PLEASE?

In the meantime, there was an official fix from Stern:

https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/530-1037-00

And when i finally receive my 2 posts i'll probably use some blue locktite to keep it fixed for a few hours (hopefully).

You know, i was thinking about this recently and the only thing i could think of that "may" be feasible is an arcade joystick style arrangement rather than the stupid spoon style thingy. So basically you would have 4 micro switches arranged around the end of the newton ball shaft, set in close so they would pick up fine movement. I have no idea if this would work though, may not be sensitive enough, may not be able to be adapted to the wiring, may just be a totally stupid F*&^* idea BTW that link no worky for me

#7115 3 years ago
Quoted from Mancave:

Ah, me sorry, now fixy.

Part number #530-1037-00

And I like your idea! Just needs a ‘plug n play’ approach.

In three separate games today suffered the same demise. After ball 1 and extra ball, had three cards, 4 tomb treasures, and 2MTM lit. So by my math I was 5 ramps away from at least a shot at glory. No dice. Bricked ramps to drain, rinse, repeat, never even got to start 2MTM. So I'm now in the club of wishing those extra Eddie letters for starting 2MTM could be nerfed in settings. The 10 ramps required in single ball mode to qualify last mode and 2MTM are endlessly brutal.

#7117 3 years ago

I’m no pro at this but definitely learning. Was wondering if it’s possible to replace orb newton with just a target that registers the same way .

#7118 3 years ago
Quoted from jlock:

One option is to change your game settings to remove the requirement to relight Eddie for 2MTM. That’s made my game more fun.

To each their own. Personally I like hitting ramp combos, and on this game especially. I had a 13x Icarus that scored near 300 million once. Also, you don't even need to combo to light Eddie letters. Left ramp, pass to the right flipper, left ramp all day.

Maaaybe, but that would change the way the game plays a lot. The orb will make you a better player over time.

Gotta agree here. Got mine before the game even entered my house. Never played without them. Love this mod

Thanks VL I do have the pencil rod ,as far as sensitivity should I tweak it so have to hit it direct n solid ? .Im waiting to put a order together I need the leaf tool don’t want to ship by it by itself .Ive just been tightening/loosening the screws as of now .I want to try the lock tight but as last resort as that will fail eventually .Im going to try a couple washers for now see what happens

You can gap the leaf switch without a tool. That switch should register with just a tap from the ball at any angle. The switch gap should be ALMOST touching, so a little movement from the pencil in the plastic dish will make it close.

The fact that the ball registers from any open direction is what makes you a better player. If you play sloppy, you'll tap that ball accidentally and collect a jackpot when you wanted to build it up first.

Makes complete sense I thank you again .

Can someone post a pic of the two upper flippers, so I can see where they line up with the alignment holes.

Thanks!

Thanks so much! Is that factory setting, and would you say the hole is lined up centered with the tip of the flipper bat?

Also, can you send your lower flipper pics.

Thanks again!

To lazy to pull glass tonight.
factory settings and upper left may be slightly lower than centered

#7130 3 years ago
Quoted from monkeyboypaul:

Cheers!! I'm pretty sure i could come up with a bracket that would hold the micro switches in position and it would be a trial and error thing exactly where the bracket would sit. Obviously at the very end of the shaft there will be more lateral movement than in the center and would come down to the room available to do the mechanical side of it. Wiring it into the system is a little beyond my capabilities All 4 switches may not be able to be linked together to trigger the same as the existing one switch? With a joystick of course the 4 switches register separately within the system. Hoping some of the more tech minded in the club can chime in with this. @vireland?

I've got my hands full with announced and some unannounced projects for the forseeable future. Plus I'm ok with the ball/pencil/spoon mech. It's not the best, but once you get it dialed in, it's pretty reliable. I've only had to mess with it once.

Just got my IMDN pro and wanted to add a shaker motor to it.
Is this the one to get?
I see that pinball life also has this one which they call a 'real shaker'.
Anyone have thoughts on these?

Mine has real knocker in it, sounds great. But might be set up wrong only knocks on coin inserts.

thats awfully cheap for an OE Stern Shaker. it may be aftermarket, since it says stern reference part numbers. They are good people there id just ask if its oe.
If it is OE I'm in for a few.

#7135 3 years ago

I'd be interested in which shaker to get as well as I have an IM coming in soon. Is the shaker well integrated into the machine?

Oh good call about the after market shaker (I assumed because it was pinball life it was the standard one). I'll let you know

You do know that 1 of those is NOT a shaker, right?

Knocker is exactly that makes a loud knock snap noise one time.

not worth the time or money IMO

Ah good to know! Sticking with the shaker... I've played an IMDN with it and the wife and I loved it. Glad I asked!

It's not an OE Stern - it's their own custom build
