Quoted from Fezmid:

Well this is a first for me. The ball was going really fast, I flipped to hit the right ramp, as it was going so fast that when it made the slight left to be dropped at the inlane, it instead flew out of the wireframe, over the flippers and drained. And as appropriate, the callout was "oh, cheap drain."

Mine used to do this. Put a piece of self adhesive felt on the back corner on top of the ramp to slow it down a little which cured it most of the time. Ended up bending the top outer wire form in so the ball wouldn't ride up high enough and never had a problem since.

I guess this wasn't unique - good to know! I will try this fix, thanks!

Hey Quarter! Lighting Revive and other basic rules I just compiled in this under 5 minutes video. Hope it could help you. And UP THE IRONS!

That was awesome. Very clear video. I learned a lot. Thanks.

Ok, well you buggers convinced me to install a shaker motor so if the machine starts coming apart i'm posting out destruction bills to Y'all
Liking it so far although i think others comments are reasonably accurate, i feel the code needs a tweak for a bit more interaction. And yup, set on Maximal using a Pinball Life shaker.

yes! glad i am not the only one. not much shaker interaction at all. need more shaker in the next update

#6606 3 years ago

My Maiden came with a shaker and I ended up moving it to Star Wars because it didnt do much.

#6607 3 years ago

After we installed the Pinwoofers, my wife said, "if we would have bought this first we wouldn't have needed the shaker"
Sometimes I hate when she's right. Fingers crossed for some more shaker in the new code.

#6608 3 years ago

I have a built-in sub too, so maybe that adds to the effect.
I love the shaker rumble when the sarcophagus loads. I think there's plenty of integration. Would you want the thing going off all the time? Then it's really not that special....

True, and i do agree with that yes. A lot more constant would be overkill. It just seems to have noticeably less interaction than a mates Metallica machine? I would have expected a similar amount for Maiden.

Quoted from KnockerPTSD:

Goody bag should have you covered. Have you checked?
[quoted image]

Wow, the plastic on top is what I need. I swear I checked, but maybe I dreamt it. I'm always dreaming about pinball... If only the naked women would come back...

Really enjoyed your rules video PStudart! Also, sneaking The Evil That Men Do in there made me long for some new music to be added to the game.

A shaker in IMDN is a super cool feature,
As it stands it works well, however some refinement would be awesome.
The integration is decent.... a massive level up would be some nice code tweaks with shaker "intensity" varying depending on the mode and critical parts of certain modes. The callouts are so perfect and if the code had a little shaker love could make Maiden more enjoyable.

#6613 3 years ago

When/if we get our code update hopefully more shaker will be involved. Love to have a couple more tunes added as well.

I added some more mods to my LE. Thanks Mezel Mods, the pyramid, fighter plane, Egyptian archway and Pharaoh blinder kit look insane! Will paint and install the 3D PinMonk Anubis figure next, but need to figure out which paint and brushes or pens to use. I’m not artistically inclined, so don’t want to rush the process and mess him up.

A black acrylic paint wash (black acrylic paint in water) is super-easy to do and ages it like a statue.

Massive thanks to these champions of pinball Keith KME and Jeremy ZY !

Also Tim and Rick with exceptional release code for the first big rookie ride.

Awesome work Team Maiden !

Stern IMDN will be top 10 Always

Great job Bro, looks killer.

I've had the blinder kit since Christmas but just getting around to trying to install it. The first step says to remove all the screws for the Pharoah plastic except the lower right and then to rotate the plastic clockwise... how does that work? The top of the cabinet is in the way. I even lowered the head to see if that was what was blocking it, but no dice. I can't remove that last screw without taking apart the ramp from what i can tell and that seems like a lot of work for the blinder....

Am i missing something?

Thanks!

Yes, yes I know there's a pandemic, but is there any guess when a code update may be on the way. Keith said before Christmas that there was one in the works but that other games getting to 1.0 code took precedent.

The last Keith said was Iron Maiden update after JP hits 1.0. That was about 4 months ago. So, I'm hoping...soon?

Had a weird stuck ball the other day... i tilted to free it as my score was sucking balls that game.

I put a rubber on that post after several hangups in my first month of ownership. Not a single hang up since.

Interesting. It has only happened once, but if it keeps happening I will do that as well.

#6629 3 years ago

I've had a number of hangups there also - but none since sticking a small rubber ring on that same post...

#6630 3 years ago

It's a common trap spot, I put an extra tie strap around the post.

#6631 3 years ago

Added some light and opto loop upgrade

Is this next update a given? Over and above 1.06.0?

Looking at a Premium, but i tend to prefer games with their code 'as done as done can be', my days of early adoption are way behind me!

This is why i bought Met in 2019 and only just bought an AC/DC in 2020 (which i've since learnt *might* also get another Lyman mini-wizard update, doh!). It's also why i will continue to own Spider-Man for a good few years still.

Keith absolutely said another update is coming, but the timing is WAY off from what he originally said (which was after JP2 hit 1.00, which was a long time ago, before COVID19 exploded here). Hopefully not too much longer...

I'm working on some custom metal for my premium. Going with some sort of orange metal flake color I think.

#6640 3 years ago

in my neverending quest to fix the orb target newton ball switch, I went ahead and loosened the actuator to move forward with the loctite fix. I haven't actually used the loctite yet, because now my actuator isn't even close to the center of the spoon. and no matter where I move the spoon and actuator, it NEVER moves the spoon down when the newton ball is hit. I am at a total loss at this point. I have no idea why they thought this mech was a good idea, I've probably spent 4 hours tinkering with this switch and at this point it's worse than when I got it (and it didn't work at all when I got it NIB!!).

Rejoining the club, this time with a Pro model. Good deal on a slightly used machine and getting next week.

Yeah the mech has a documented history of being an unreliable pos.
I too have spent many hours trying to get it right.
Tried everything you mentioned and more. I have finally found a sweet spot which involves very careful leaf adjustment and loctite. Was a tearing out of hair exercise

Interesting to note that the original drawings, the ones still provided show a proximity sensor at both newton locations. Would be interested to know why it was too hard ? I can't really get my head around how a prox sensor would work there anyway .
Hopefully there will be some true innovation one day and spoon/leaf set up will never be used in this fashion again.

I'm hoping someone comes up with a spiffy retrofit so we can get rid of it.

#6646 3 years ago
Quoted from Billy16:

I'm hoping someone comes up with a spiffy retrofit so we can get rid of it.

I have two left hands so I'm not creating anything, but I have wondered if it wasn't possible to set up something similar to a tilt bob... Pole sticking out of the newton ball surrounded by a circle of conductive material and if the pole hits the circle it closes a circuit.

Probably a million reasons why it wouldn't work else someone at Stern would have thought about it, I guess

I powdercoated legs, lollipops, coin door, hinges, and lockdown bar. Also replaces T-Molding with chrome. Also did my JP2. We do powdercoating if your interested. Hard to see, in these pics JP2 looks really dark, but its a metalflake emerald green.

Just blew it up with my personal best. 160M on Cyborg and got a 99M power jackpot that I added the 15M from the 3rd tomb treasure to intentionally before I cashed in. Feels good to have a game like that after some not so great ones!
