Just ordered a Iron Maiden Pro, really wanted to get a premium but the mixed reviews with out of the box adjustments scared me off. I dont mind tinkering but If I had to do it fesh out the box I would be un happy.

Quoted from Angel:They came with the package...the local distributor added them as a "thank you" for your business gift along with sleeve of silver jet balls. They don't look that bad...at least I hope they don't
Pull them, they will do more damage than good. Stern puts those leg spacers in to prevent the legs from touching the artwork and messing it up. Those big plastic pieces will start digging into the nice Maiden artwork over time. No need for them.

Once I get my proper black legs from the distributor I will definitely remove those protectors. Then again I may take the advice of one of the pinside members and powder coat the pin purple to match...and leave the legs as they are...

Purple wouldnt work with your game very well though. I'd go black or just powder coat all of it to something more appropriate

I just got a premium and my buddy in town owns the pro. I had the extra cash to snag a premium and I'm SUPER happy with it so far, however the PRO is freakin awesome too, you will not be disappointed

Sounds more like a F_ YOU. The balls however are ok! Lol! All kidding aside the ones on your game can wrinkle the decals.
Quoted from WizardsCastle:Wifey helped me put in the new blades tonight. Really digging them!
Also, can someone help me find these screw replacements online?[quoted image][quoted image]
Ace hardware/homedepot have those screws all day long in the states. No idea where you'd get them in Canada, though, but it's a very common screw.
If you don't mind getting bent over on shipping, Marco has them in stock:

Just added a pro to the lineup. 6/19/19 build so already has the cliffs from factory behind the ramps. Going to do the coils stops and clean the sleeves tonight, the right flipper really gives when trying to catch the ball and slightly weak- can make the left ramp but not strong enough to backhand the center jump. Auto launch is a clean loop and only pooling around 3 posts - I guess that’s a win.
Started up and played fine at pickup but after the move /potholes filled jersey ride home/ move into house - said node board error on 1-8-9. Ran diagnostics and it eventually found them and game started with no errors on 4 restarts over the next 24 hrs... anything to worry about??
Has about 425 plays - art blades and came with a thumb and pinky sized rip in the right graphics (birthmark).
Will get this dialed in over next couple of days and start flipping away.

I was in the same boat and eventually ended up with a HUO pro that was dialed in and don't regret it a bit. Premium is certainly nice but after putting some more time in on the pro I don't find myself missing the "upgrades" of the premium and I think the flow is ever so slightly better on the pro.

Just try spacing your flippers correctly first, to address the weakness. Seems to be a common problem on maiden. I couldn't hit the center ramp from the right flipper until I spaced the flippers.
Quoted from Angel:Happy to post that my Iron Maiden Premium arrived today, born on January 22nd, 2020, looks amazing. The one unusual things is that it came with purple powder coated legs. Is this normal? The pictures I see on the Stern website, the legs look black...or has Stern changed the color of the legs in this latest run?[quoted image]
I've seen stranger things before.
Quoted from Shapeshifter:So, what would people say if Run to the Hills was added as a separate game like Keith is doing with JP?
I would like it as no way, like as in ever, will I see RTTH!
I'm all proud of myself when I get the 3rd tomb treasure lol. Battle is somewhat achievable for me but r2th? No way man. (I'd also like to see the loop extra ball brought down to a non Elwinian number. Maybe 25?)

I have played so many games in which I just focus on loops and ive never gotten past 35. 50 is insane, or as you put it, Elwinian.
Question regarding the new premiums that people have gotten built recently, are they coming with interlock switches? Was thinking of putting one on if the code gets updated to support it. Just was curious if games built since last fall have them.

I'll get a dozen without trying but I've also tried to focus on loops, sometimes making it to the mid 30s. Maybe if the loop jackpots also counted toward the overall loops I'd do better but even then I'd have only got the free ball a handful of times in over a year of ownership.

Check spacing and pulled coil stop while playfield was up. Quick change and fully functional now.

I can't get a solid post transfer to work from my left flipper. I've adjusted the flipper up and down (probably 15 times). Right to left is no problem. Left to right - it makes it to the tip of the flipper, but no further. Any ideas on how to rectify? I've tried varying the flipper strength in the settings.

Mine was built on Jan. 22, 2020 and the coin door does have the standard interlock switch killing the 48V circuit.

Thank you, does it in fact kill the playfield when you open the door?
All the switches and solenoids are dead and do require the interlock switch to be pressed when performing functional tests via the service menu. I did not pull out a multi-meter to check although.

Mezel's coffin flasher mod is awesome but I get that it's made for the pro. Anyone add it to a premium/LE anywhere?

Man, i gotta share this with somebody. Best game yet on Maiden in the 1-2 years of ownership. Probably a solid 30 min game. Still havent defeated the beast (got him down to 3hp this game) and still no RTTH. But man, best game yet! I can go weeks without getting initials on my machine anymore, but got 11 high scores in this one game - what a killer game! Here’s a few highlights:

I love when a hot game materializes out of nowhere, especially on ball 3 when you have no balls left to fall back on. The tension is so good.
Initially had a pro, sold, coming back for a premium. The pf issues were not yet an issue but haven’t kept up if it has impacted IMDN at all.
Am I good buying a huo local or newer?
Any help appreciated - pm fine.
Thanks all.

Early Maiden Prem/LEs had issues with the sarcophagus lock, but those are mostly worked out now and not that hard to fix if it affects you. At this age, the biggest used thing to check is if both the newton balls are still attached to their posts. They tend to come loose and fall off or be able to be pulled off easily after a year of continuous hits.
I don't know how long these videos stay up but there is a pretty epic game of Iron Maiden played here:

My premium is new as of Jan 22. My playfield looks ok so far. But I have many of the same issues that needed to be fixed. Auto launch, upper loop not registering fast shots, phantom orb hits, left ramp switch behind backboard needed adjusting...
Game is awesome anyhow, and I knew what I was getting into. Only thing I was really worried about was playfield chipping/bulging and that seems ok so far but it's still pretty fresh....
Quoted from stoptap:Thinking of selling a couple of games and getting my first NIB game. Choice is betwixt Iron Maiden and Jurassic Park (both Pro). What are your thoughts guys ? Are you still loving Iron Maiden ?
Maiden. JP may eventually get less repetitive callouts, but as they are, drives me insane. Can't handle it. Iron Maiden is a complete package that is very close to what I would call polished and done.

Iron Maiden.
JP2 is is great but its quite a tough game and I find it challenging to make progress on it which then makes it repetitive, the music on JP2 sucks to the point where even though I hate Iron Maiden I actually appreciate the music; where as I think Iron Maiden its a little bit more forgiving but still has a huge amount to do on it. I like Iron Maiden so much I bought one to put in Flip Out!
Although I'd try and get a second hand one mate, there are a lot of Maiden's about.

I need tough games Neil so that wouldn’t put me off JP2 but I am definitely leaning towards Iron Maiden. I love the layout it is so different.
Give me a nudge if you know of one for sale in the UK.

If you have no problem with severe playfield cratering and have plenty of time to spare for fixing and making adjustments...................
Go for it !
Awesome game, somewhat letdown by ordinary QC and cheapskate choices.
Quoted from stoptap:Thinking of selling a couple of games and getting my first NIB game. Choice is betwixt Iron Maiden and Jurassic Park (both Pro). What are your thoughts guys ? Are you still loving Iron Maiden ?
You are in a Maiden thread, so expect biased responses.
Having said that - I’ve owned an IMDN Pro since late November and a JP2 Premium since late December and they are both incredible games and you can’t go wrong with either one. I spend more time playing the JP2, but that is partly cause it is so hard and most games end with me frustratingly hitting the start button again.
But when I play Iron Maiden it just feels so balanced and perfect. Shots, call outs, music (I love Maiden), modes - everything just seems to come together into a complete package. Really puts a smile on my face after having a decent game.
Interestingly enough, everyone else in my family loves it too - including my wife who is not a fan of pinball or Maiden. When I hear someone go down into the game room and turn on a machine, more often than not it is IMDN.
I’m fortunate and glad I have both, but if I had to pick only one it would definitely be IMDN.

P.s. one thing that had me hesitate in my choice is the new JP2 code that introduces the Escape Nublar mini game mode. What an incredible idea that I hope to see as an option in more and more machines. I know the purists might disagree but I know for a FACT I’m never going to hit some of these super wizard modes - why keep them hidden forever.
I bought the fix kit from Pinball Life that I believe has an opto and stuck ball fix.
No instructions on how to install.
Wondering if anyone has done it and can possibly take a photo.
Thanks!

My LE has slight pooling around the posts and a few small chips on some of them too. I've placed clear washers under these areas and you can't see it at all anymore. If this concerns you I'd recommend looking for a lightly used prem so you can inspect the playfield yourself before purchase.

Own both. IMDN. I think IMDN has more smooth and satisfying shots, better call outs and music (I only knew one IMDN song before I bought the game) and seems a lot less repetitive. JP is at the bottom of my five and I may even sell it soon. IMDN is my favorite and has been since I bought it.

I own both games and you really can’t go wrong with either one. I own the premium JP and pro IMDN. The JP premium is just so cool with the interactive Dino and raptor lock. If I had to choose between the two JP would stay 100%...but keep in mind that I enjoy a deep coded game and don’t mind a tough shooter. JP code is just deep...fun...and offers a variety of different mini wizard modes to go for which I really enjoy. I’m not saying IMDN is shallow in code(it’s also pretty deep)but JP just had a little more to offer IMHO. Try to play both before you buy and just because I like JP more doesn’t mean you will...GL with your decision...both games are awesome.
Hi Guys, having some issues with the back box speakers, there is lots of crackling noises, and wondering what volume settings everyone is using here and results?
I played around with settings to get better bass sound from sub, which I’m now happy with, but the back box speakers sound pretty bad.
I have an LE.
Cheers!

You're overdriving the underpowered Stern CPU onboard amp and it's clipping. Get an external amp and the mid-high volume problem disappears.
You can also get a small amplifier (aliexpress has them for like $15 or you can get a kit from pinwoofer) to handle the cabinet speaker and take some load off the CPU amplifier. I haven't tried it, but it should leave more overhead for the backbox speakers.
