Not sure if all of these are included as "rare" but I own a Star Gazer (869), Solar Fire (782), Godzilla (510) and Carribean Cruise (377). Would love to own a Williams Joust someday.

Another one I thought of is d.e. time machine. Not so rare and fairly well liked.
I love everything about the game. Art,sound, theme, game play, light show. It's one of data east's best games IMO.
here is another one. allied leisure sea hunt. they also made one other shaker pinball called spooksville.
kind of like the em verson of pin2k.
Quoted from PoMC:I own Hi-Score Pool, which is a unique game that is fun as hell and competitive when playing two players. Not exactly a pinball since there are no bumpers or anything other than 2 slings, 2 flippers.

Played one at the PHOF last month. Doesn't look interesting or fun, but it actually is fun and challenging!

In the early to mid-'70's, there were a lot of them on location. It was a good money maker. Bars, bowling alleys, arcades, laundromats and even a karate school. You read that right. Dearborn Karate Studio at 4710 Horger in Dearborn, Michigan (48126, upstairs) rebranded itself as "The Karate Den" around 1975 and added an arcade and disco themed dancing area complete with a Chicago Coin Hi-Score Pool and Midway Winner Pong-type game.
Quoted from tamoore:I own one of them. Not fun!
Always good for one or two plays every year or so.
I vaguely remember playing a sea hunt with my dad when I was little.
We played a lot of pinball when I was very young.
Ah, the 70's. I kinda miss those days when even the Podunk town I grew up in had pins every where.
Own;
Voltan Escapes Cosmic Doom
Spectrum
Asteroid Annie and the Aliens
Lady Luck (woodrail)
Playboy (Rally)
Comics
Star-Jet (early production #7)
Wishlist;
Star Gazer
Iron Maiden
Heavy Metal Meltdown
Spirit
Eclipse (looking for dedicated but would take conversion in a pinch...lol)
Twilight Zone - sample game (just prefer the look and don't feel like drilling the playfield for the 3rd magnet mod)
Does anybody else active here have any Rally games?
Quoted from SergioJ:Does anybody else active here have any Rally games?
I wish.... see page 2 for my post.
I've owned Krull, an original BBB, and Joust, but recently sold them all. I have protos of Slugfest (first DMD game), Safecracker, CFTBL, Scared Stiff, Funhouse, Whirlwind, Whitewater, and Roadshow. I have hybrid protos (major amounts of playfield proto stuff, but completed with non proto stuff) of TAF and Banzai Run. Then I have an HUO Cactus Canyon. I also have TZ "#1 on the run" signed as such by Pat (which makes it the first production machine and a sample) as well as a sample Earthshaker.
So I've owned some super rare, and I own some pretty rare stuff.

genesis for me, a lot of peoples don't like the translite, i do.
i'd also like to get a Gottlieb Centigrade 37
I've owned a BBB and a Varkon. Fun to own and people liked being able to play them. Sold them to buy other games (and technically a residence (camper)).
Nothing really rare left in the collection so I'm planning to do a BOP 2.0.
My Rare want-list is difficult (but not impossible):
Sexy Girl (original kit installed in Playboy)
Pinball Circus
Balls-A-Poppin'
Jacks Open
I've got an idea for my own game as well so that might prove to be interesting.
And to the guy looking for a Black Gold: It's a really terrible EM. You'll be buying it for the theme I'm sure, but man is it a dog to play. Tim Arnold has one and he and I played a game of it together. There was a reason they never made it. I did have someone offer me one once. I had to explain that while it was a VERY RARE game, it was the equivalent of a showroom fresh Yugo. There's games you'll enjoy more for sure. Or buy it for the theme and enjoy the blinking lights (455 bulbs).
Rare or unusual games I've owned include Balls-A-Poppin, Defender, Rock-Ola 1937 World Series, Spectrum, Challenger, 2 Jousts, 3 Hercules, War, Derby Dash, Dutch Pool, Iron Maiden, Orbitor 1, Granny And the Gators, Asteroid Annie, Whip-It, Mills One-Two-Three, Banzai Run, Sea Hunt, Pockets, United Rodeo bingo, Bally 1951 version of Broadway bingoimg002.jpg, Ballyround and Brownie Pool. The only games I really miss are Banzai Run and Joust. The rest (besides the bingos which I still have) got boring pretty quick. There's a reason that most of these are rare.
I've posted a few photos of rare games I took at one of the early Expos. Also a few photos of Wreck'n Ball, the prototype for Banzai Run.img003.jpgimg004.jpgimg005.jpg
In the unpopular category I really want a Gilligan's Island. Generally this one is looked down on as too simple but I want it for pure nostalgia.
In the rare category I'd love to find:
Gottlieb spirit (awesome backglass)
Williams Defender (full of rare 80's arcade goodness)
Williams Joust (love the head to head layout)
another one on my list is mousin around. I never see these come up for sale near me. I play it every year at pagg.
I like the theme and the game play is good.
who ever owns the one that's at pagg every year thank you for bringing it.
I think I have a few titles that qualify I have been on the lookout for a Williams Defender for awhile now & missed out on a Starlight
Capcom Airborne seems right up my alley as far as a game goes. Would like to have one of them.
Joust is a fantastic game that would be cool to own.

Mousin Around is also on my list. Fun game with a good family friendly theme. I seem to see at least on come up for sale every year in my area (same with Breakshot). My only problem so far is that I've usually blown my pinball budget by the time one shows up!

It took me a long time to find one. In two years, I saw a total of 3 for sale in Michigan - two of which were probably the same machine. For some reason, the playfield is normally trashed and the cabs are, of course, faded to death.
Quoted from Crrispy:Funny, TX-Sector is anything but rare here in France, like quite a lot of 80B's.
from what I understand, during the 80's most of what gottlieb produced went to Europe..
from what I have read and heard, your fellow county men have a great fondness for gottlieb games.
I love em also.
That may have started right after/during System 1 games, Gottlieb lost their footing in the American market and Williams made it very difficult to get back in so they had to go elsewhere. I remember my boss saying he'd never buy another Gottlieb after the System 1 fiasco.

that makes sense. during the em days id say 9 out of 10 games I played were gottliebs. in the 80's with ss games it was reversed. there were 2 arcades in the town I grew up in and one had only bally games. the other had bally, williams, stern, gottlieb and a few atairi pins. all the other locations I played at, the bowling alley, 7/11 etc, switched to mostly Williams games. every place I went to play pinball in 78-79 seemed to have flash.

How cheap can they be found for in good condition over there?
Just picked up an Airborne Avenger 1977 Atari the other day. Steve Ritchie's first design. Found it in an auto body shop just sitting there. Looked it up and only 350 made. It's in pretty good shape and works well. I have to say I am not usually a fan of older games but its fun and challenging. Anyone else own this one?
Quoted from Whysnow:How cheap can they be found for in good condition over there?
I have seen at least 7 for sale on our local Craiglist (LeBonCoin) during the last 18 months. They were listed between 390 and 900 euros - and often sold for less.
another one im moving to the top of my list is sorcerer. I was out playing some location pinball with my sons.
later when we got home we decided to have a tournament on the wii with the Williams collection. my wife reminded me how much she likes the game. I do to. now its back to the top of my wish list.
Yeah, I like the rare and quirky games too and own a few: Spirit, Spectrum, and Star Gazer. My '49 K.C. Jones woodrail might qualify.
Owned Q*bert's Quest which was neat but found the gameplay a bit too simple. If I had more room, I would have kept it but basement space is currently maxed.
Would still like to own Defender for a while at least. Caribbean Cruise would be cool too - big Trudeau fan.

Very impressive and difficult to have accomplished!!!
I've learned a lot reading this great thread and initially thought that a Safecracker or a Joust was interesting enough for me...
Had a flipper football that was boring as bat shit if you played against the machine but novelty fun value player v player with profanity mods on and sucking down a few frothies.
Also had a Mac attack by mr game who was zaccaria. Belongs in a large stable rather then your average joe's 3-5 plank games room. Integration of arcade upon completion of a level adds some entertainment. As with sacs I've played the rule set is fairly shallow and it's more about keeping the ball live.
Wouldn't own again but don't regret buying either.
Tx-Sector Whitewood....
This is the only one in the world, unless John Trudeau has the earlier version with the stainless ramps stuck away somewhere still...
John told me when i was doing this project, This was the very last Whitewood Tx-Sector before regular production started...
fully functional with production ROMS
there is a part # written on every PF component, top side and bottom side...
I brought this to York in 2011 and Expo 2011 as well, some of you may have seen it.. and played it
I had just finished it at that point, but it still made it through both shows.
Here's some pics ..enjoyTX-Sector Whitewood project 042.jpgTX-Sector Whitewood project 032.jpgTX-Sector Whitewood project 031.jpg
