Quoted from o-din:Speaking of rare, does anybody know where to get one of these? Besides the one I'm playing?
After playing your Gladiators, it got me wanting one-dammit! I also kinda want a Barb-Wire now too-What! I found the Gottlieb's to be solid and played well, I was really surprised. I would also take a Al's Garage Band, Spectrum, Spirit, Genesis and perhaps a Medusa.

im going to count it based on the coolness and rare factor. that is very cool.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. As far as DMDs are concerned, at the end of the night it's all about the Gottliebs. My buddy came over Saturday night, and after all the others were turned off, we had a Barb Wire-athon.
Quoted from PinballHelp:I love my Spectrum... great artwork and very creative design and a wonderful ruleset.
Love mine too ! All I need now is a Barracora besides it. Beautiful Backglass too !
Some great examples in this post...really terrific tastes out there.
I'd love to see some of the early 79-81 or 93-96 Spanish tites a bit more...as they are scarce on the East Coast but seem to be out and about in the California collectors world.
The hands down 2 hardest pinballs I have ever played are both in my present collection.
Gottlieb Diamond Lady
Stern Catacomb
Fast, furious, no free balls for short play, no mulligans.
Free Fall (Stern 1981) is another gem I cherish.
If you like rare...go to Papa or Pinburgh.
They got rare....lots of rare.
Happy holidays Pinside--

Quoted from jlm33:Don't know if you ever encountered a Genesis... not the Gottlieb/Premier pin (which I like, by the way) but the one from Elbos, Italy. There was one in France for sale a few months ago. Missed it.

wow! cool looking game. thanks for sharing this. I love the art. the layout looks fun too.
The rarest one would be a Thunderball. Only 10 made. I got it in pieces and had to find roms and a bg. Did sell it though.
Others that I still own would include Algar (349).
Previously owned include New York (300), and lots of Gtb AAB games.
A friend had a Mini-Viper (think safecracker size). http://www.ipdb.org/search.pl?any=viper&sortby=name&search=Search+Database&searchtype=quick#4905
One of a kind.
I just thought of another one I don't think anyone mentioned. not ultra rare but I think its a cool game and it holds an interesting place in pinball history.
the game, sharp shooter. how cool is it to have roger sharpe on a black glass. the man basically saved pinball in the 1970"s. its a pretty fun game also.
Quoted from mrgone:The top of my list is , silver slugger, tz sector, strange science.
There are others . I just can't think of right now.
Heavy Metal Meltdown with the topper.

Williams licensed BK to Entex, so they should not have a problem licensing MM to PPS.
Quoted from wayout440:Williams Star Light, at only 100 made I probably will never own one.
I've played Phoebe's StarLight at Expo. Fun game.
Reminds me of Kory Hankin's Gemini because of the colors...very cool.

I owned one 15 years ago or so. I did not know they only made 100 at the time. I am glad to say it was not one of the test system 9 board sets.....
Its so cool seeing those games that you never knew even existed. I have a Solar Fire and a Flying Turns which are on the rarer side . Would also like a Cyclopes or Loch Ness Monster.
There was a star race for sale near me for $600 a couple of months ago.
I wish I'd known some of you were looking for one.
I have the 1980 James Bond time based game. Was very unpopular when released due to time settings from what I have read but I love it!
I haven't got around to mine yet. When I do, I plan to do Kirb's conversion so it can be timed or regular play.

I have two lineups that have been discussed here a bit.
TX-Sector - Genesis - RoboWar ... all in a row.
Next up, the real oddball line, Spectrum - Orbitor 1 - Hyperball - Ice Cold Beer. I like the quirky games.

Oh yeah my friend also had Orbitor and Hyperball (is that the one that shoots out a ton of pinballs?) There was a weird cocktail table too that was the first time I had played that. The funky ones are fun. He had the World Tour one too which I had previously only played in Denmark.

I had one and sold it before it was restored. I regret doing that. I always wanted to play it.
I have an Atari Airborne Avenger (Steve Ritchie's first pinball game) - only 350 were originally made. I'm looking forward to restoring that game.
I am a pilot so any rare aviation theme is on my list. Black Sheep Squadron is on the list because the Corsair is my favorite airplane and I used to watch the show as a kid.
The other is Escape from the Lost World.

I bet you'd like Capcom's Airborne
Quoted from HELLODEADCITY:I'd love to get at least 1 EM Gun game someday
Haunted House or Perhaps French Foreign Legion
I used to play haunted house at a shakey's pizza when I was a kid. I loved that game. I would love to find one some day. coolest gun game I can remember playing.
Quoted from vid1900:Lazerlordlazer5.JPG 296 KB
Some day, I'm going to win the power ball and I'm gonna buy you that laser lord for Christmas.
Quoted from vid1900:Lazerlord
that looks amazing !!!
haven't ever seen that one before.

Cyclopes

Iirc, there was only 1 made. I believe it was to be the last old stern game but never made it to production.
most of the stuff I own is mostly unseen or unpopular. I prefer it that way. Had a fairly cookie cutter collection at one time. I appreciate the rarer unique games more so than the same stuff you see at everyones house. There are probably 20 rare unique euro games I would love to own that I don't own yet.

Btw, you should submit those pictures to ipdb.org. He doesn't have hardly any pictures of that genesis.
The more I look at that non-Premier "Genesis" pic set, the more I like it. It has the classic fantasy art package(not unlike Panthera in parts) & an interesting BK-like playfield. The BG art with the sections is beautiful.
They just don't make pins like that any more.
I owned an "Escape From Lost World" that I really liked despite it being pretty basic in terms of the rule set. I've seen a couple for sale since, but parts of the upper play-field are pretty flimsy, and impossible to replace.
Quoted from o-din:Speaking of rare, does anybody know where to get one of these? Besides the one I'm playing?
There was one for sale in The Netherlands up to a few days ago. It got sold.
pinside is awesome bump, two different members here know someone with a silver slugger for sale. they both contacted me and it turns out I know the owner a little bit from sacramento pinball group. long story short. I contacted the seller and we should be making a deal after the new year. that's why pinside is so awesome. pinheads taking time out to help others. thanks fellows you guys are awesome.
Same playfield as Quicksilver with different artwork.

That's great. Silver Slugger is a cool table- another John Trudeau sleeper deck! I love the little hidden kickout on the upper left.
