Flipperless (pre ww2) pinball machines are often immensely fun to play.

    Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

Unpopular opinion: Modern manufacturers need to pop out a "short player" ultra fast and brutal game every once in a While. Godzilla, Avengers, and Jurassic Park a great, long playing, story based games, but we need something new where the focus is on score and hard to make short and quick objectives.
Every new machine needs to have an option for a "noob mode" that can be started by default for putting pins out on location to get new folks interested. Goals like, "Make a ramp", "hit the pop bumpers", "knock down the drops to start multiball" with time based play. No this doens't appeal to homebuyers, but we need something simple to get new people into the hobby that would do well for noobs on location. Explaining pinball to my visitors is/was much easier on Black Knight and Attack From Mars than on Godzilla and Jurassic Park.

Unpopular, really? Is this not the reason that machines like TNA exist and are successful?
