Where do you Twin Cities guys buy your replacement playfield glass? I'm going to need a couple sheets in the near future...
Thanks for the quick reply,
I think I've seen his advertisement on craigslist.
Does he have a location anymore?
I'll be in the Duluth/Superior area for a wedding next week. Are there any locations around Fitger's or canal park to play Pinball?
Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to let you guys know if I happen across any.
I feel like a retro arcade would do pretty well in Duluth, especially if they were able to sell some of the awesome local beers!
who do you recommend for board work. I've got two anypin nvram chips that I need installed, Well sockets soldered in... I don't trust myself right now, as I've only got a cheep soldering iron and haven't done board work yet. I've got no problem removing the board from the machine and bringing them someplace.
Or should I just throw caution to the wind, upgrade my soldering iron and just do it myself?
Quoted from ralphwiggum:If you are local to me, I will do it for no charge...
Thanks, I'll be traveling to Milwaukee around Thanksgiving, but I'm hoping to get them done before then...
I just got home from the Fair! I had a great time at pinball on a stick. Apparently I play much better when it's 90 degrees...
But I think a couple machines were sick of the heat.
Quoted from policano:Thanks for stoping out! What machine besides TOTAN was not working properly? We are working on TOTAN still.
Totan was not ejecting out of the bizarre, Kiss had a similar hangup shooting the demon, but eventually it fed out another ball and played again, and the right castle door on the Wizard of oz wasn't opening and the ball was stuck behind it. Still had a blast and got my personal best games on Star Trek and Walking Dead!
By the look of it the machines are getting a lot of play this year. Pinball-on-a-stick is one big reasons I like going to the fair. Thanks for all the hard work!
Now get that Star Trek back over to Sunray, I'm hooked!
Can anyone suggest a local glass company that will cut custom size tempered glass. I need two pieces for an arcade cabinet project... It would be great if they were open Saturday too. Thanks!
(I'm in the Saint Paul metro)
Anyone know of a good powder coating company in the twin cities? I'm thinking about having the legs and rails done on my machines, and would like some input. Has anyone ever used www.powderkegcoatings.com?
Thanks!
Quoted from Cudaman:I have used Mark at New Image Coatings in Circle Pines MN for some powder coating when I was restoring my Firebird. Quality and price were good.
I'll check into them too. Do you know if they keep color samples on hand?
Thanks!
Quoted from Cudaman:I have a restored Champion Pub for sale. Check marketplace for details or click on the link below to see 62 high res pictures.
Cudaman,
Nice looking machine! I've been playing that one a lot on Pinball Arcade. If only I had more space... maybe one day.... GLWTS
Quoted from Minneapolispin:I sold my Game Show machine to a call little spot up in the north side of Minneapolis last night. It's called Blue Sun Soda shop. There are 1000+ different varieties of sodas available and the best part is, they have these three machines now set up for free play. It's located just a few minutes away from Blainebrook Bowl. Great, friendly staff too!
That place is the best! We used to drive all the way out to Jordan to buy our soda from the candy store there. this is much closer, and they have pinball machines.
Quoted from policano:Thanks! I definitely lean on the Sterns. Less maintenance because they are newer no doubt but in my bowling alley its all about the theme. I do try to have a little for everyone. I'm not sure whats next on the list.
Nice lineup! Now if they could just get rid of the remaining arcade machines and squeeze in a few more pins...
When did MSP Terminal 2 get rid of the arcade? I was all excited when we had some time to kill, now I'm just holed up at the bar drinking...
Quoted from RVH:I put my Theater of Magic on Minneapolis Craigslist last night. Looking to fund a Dialed In possibly.
Nice machine! I wish I had the room for it right now... At that price it won't be around long.
I really need to move into a bigger house...
Quoted from Captain-Flint:Hey guys... New here, from Milwaukee Wi. Picked up my first pin. Black Rose. So far so good. I have been collecting and restoring Arcade machines for a few years now and as cool as it is it doesn't hold a candle to playing pinball.
Nice! Black Rose was the first machine I bought too, well for about an hour till I bought a second machine (white water) while I still had the moving truck handy...
That playfield looks to be in nice shape, I would protect the cannon with a cliffy before it gets chipped too badly!
Welcome to the club!
It’s been a while since I put LED’s in mine, but I know there were a mix of 555’s and 44’s I just don’t recall the exact numbers. The manual doesn’t list the amount either. But it appears that the 555 are the more common bulbs:
I would just buy an assortment of bulbs and customize it to your liking. It could be that someone changed out some sockets on yours, like you said.
