In Minnesota there are 11,842 lakes that are 10 acres or larger, but their actual definition of a lake is an "area of open, relatively deep water that is large enough to produce a wave-swept shore."
Hey, we Minnesotans like brats and cheese, too. Just look at how many of us are overweight for proof of that.
