When I was a kid there was an Eight Ball Deluxe at a pizza place in Eden Prairie we went to all the time. The attract mode is burned I to my brain. When I eat pizza I often hear the phrases, "Eight Ball Deluxe", and "Ride the cyclone!" Running through my head.

I visited the Victoria Burrow in Victoria, MN last night. For those not familiar, Victoria is west of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum on hwy 7. They had decent food, lots of drinks, 18 hole indoor mini-golf, axe-throwing, virtual reality, a bocce lane and a sizable arcade. Unfortunately only three pins amongst all the machines. Game of Thrones, Beatles and Deadpool. I sank some money into Deadpool. Pinball is $1 per play or $2 for three plays. Interesting place to check out, wish they had more pins.

Quoted from Goalie:

I live down the street. They switch out the machines, they had a stern star trek and a ghostbusters not long ago.

Good to know. I'll check back in!

Valleyfair arcade is still a bunch of liars.[quoted image]

So true, you can't buy ANY petroleum in there. Liars!!

#12758 4 years ago
Quoted from Fezmid:

They at least have two petrol pumps in front... Lol

Those pumps sure are fun on a hot day!

Wonka just showed up at Tilt here in MN too. @ltg when do you expect yours?

Sweet, I was going to try to make it to Tilt next week anyhow!

I remember going in the arcade at the fair as a kid when I was on break (I worked at the fair) and it seemed like row after row of pins. It would be so much fun if they had a retro arcade there. Is it mostly redemption games these days?

Before I pull the trigger and order one, does anyone happen to have a right hand "control room" plastic for pinbot locally? Can't attach a pic here but it is the one on the right hand side with the guys in a control room. The one that covers the outlane.

FYI: I hadn't been in for a while so I'm not sure when they swapped machines but the Victoria Burrow now has TSPP instead of GOT and the Munsters instead of Deadpool. Beatles remains.

That's a bummer about NE arcade closing. I wanted to get my dad and brother out there to play Genie. We bought Genie for my dad's birthday back in 1987. He was really into pinball in college dropping tons of coins into King's and Queens at Manning's back around 1969. We had Genie for about one month when the super storm of 87 rolled in and deposited 8 feet of water in our basement destroying Genie. It would be fun to get some time on it again.

#13983 3 years ago

Yup, it is a great deal. I'm not in a place to drop that much on a machine right now but someone will get a nice machine.

Lloyd, have you spent the time working on games? Curious if there are any projects you have tackled in your collection.

No mask required if thats your thing

That's exactly the kind of thing that would make me not visit a place to play. Aren't masks required in Wisconsin?

Okay, who snatched up the Quicksilver in Shakopee? I tried but someone beat me to it. Hope at least it was a pinsider.

#14906 3 years ago

It was on Craigslist for $900. Gone real fast!

I'll be pissed if someone just flips it. I need a cheap winter project!

Quoted from JonCBrand:I have the itch to add a game or two. I have owned or played most of the spike 2. Thinking I should dip into the 70s to 90s, Id appreciate some advice from anyone that is willing to guide me. Helped a friend buy a late 60s EM but thats not my thing. Are there any good articles or forum posts breaking down where to start? IE avoid these or these are known for issues but always the same failure....
PM me if you have something thats up and running and near me.

The most important advice is that if you find a cheap Star Gazer or Quicksilver for sale you should pass on them and just let me know so I can quietly buy them and save you the trouble.

Okay, who snagged the Gorgar before me?

Quoted from Dan_Halen:

ArcadeRaid You looking to buy a Gorgar machine? I'm perpetually considering selling mine.

Not particularly. There was a Gorgar briefly up on FB marketplace locally for pretty cheap. I would have snagged it for a winter project. I was more just curious who scored a great deal!

Congratulations Lloyd! Bummed I had to miss it. I’m sick in bed with Covid and lemme tell you. No one wants this.

Heads up local players. I just stopped at The Burrow in Victoria to play and all four of their machines were offline. Unfortunately they use a card reading system and it could not connect to the Wi-Fi so even though the games were ready to play there was no way to play them. Seem like it was happening to other machines there as well. Staff reset the Wi-Fi but it had no effect. You know what’s great about quarters? They don’t need Wi-Fi. Too bad the machines are set to not accept coins.

So, in case anyone was headed there to play sadly I have to say avoid it for a while until they can get their system straightened out. Viva la quarters.

Quoted from Vitty:

Speaking of the Burrow, we need more pins at the Victoria location!!!

Yes, absolutely! There's room too.

I'm looking to pick up a used Star Wars Home Pin in the Twin Cities with the original (not comic) artwork. Looking to spend between $3500 and $3800depending on condition and such. (Which seems to be the going rate for SW home pin used.) If anyone is interested in selling, shoot me a PM. I know there is NIB stock around but I'm not seeing the value at the NIB prices out there.

Thanks!

Was it a pinsider who snatched up that Mars Trek on Facebook Marketplace in MN? Someone got a sweet deal!

Laser War is a simple but really fun game. Such a great machine for new players to just be able to step up to and quickly understand and appreciate. For $800 someone got a steal. Probably needs $16 in parts to get it working again.

#19832 8 months ago
Quoted from EJS:

If whoever gets that laser war is on here I’d like to scan one of the plastic pieces please. Mine is missing one.

We have one in the family. I can't get to it right away but I can get you a scan. What piece do you need?

Still looking for a local used Star Wars Home in movie art if someone comes across one. Just missed out on two different sales (one at 3K one at $2750). That seems to be what these are going for used. If you know of one for sale locally (not at new prices) shoot me a message. Cash ready to buy.

Throwing this out there again, if you run into someone with a used Start Wars home edition they are looking to unload let me know. There are a number for sale around the country right now for around $3,500 but not within a driving distance that makes sense. I'm in at that price point if anyone knows of a seller.
