You can't "swim with the fishes" unless someone forces you into cement galoshes and tosses you in the drink. Are you anticipating this? Did you betray a rival family? You seem like a standup guy to me. I would not have guessed that you are linked to the Rockford Mafiosi. Or maybe you're an enforcer and you muscled the wrong local business. I think BroBra is quite well connected. He might know the right goons to hire to neutralize your threat. The thing about cement galoshes is they take quite a long time to set. They are definitely an instrument of a bygone era. No one today has the time to wait for cement to set just to off some guy!

Oh, and GLWTS.

This game has some sweet lighting, for sure. Great ad!
RZ has a very creative skill-shot plunge involving bouncing your way up the playfield by way of the staggered slings. Points to Charlie for that one! It also has some of the gnarliest adult content of any modern pin. It's not for the squeamish!

Blue Moon Bar in Madison has the pro as well while we wait for the LE. Tossed a shaker in there before turning it on too.

My father has been one since I was born, 1968. He's semi retired, but still takes on a fair share of business out of his home and lakehome. He did my dealership here in Burnsville for years and our dealership is BIG. Want some info, or want me to check with him LMK

I happen to be one. I work as a corporate accountant for one of the larger financial institutions in the area, not so much a CPA.

If anyone local wants to ship/ store a backglass or playfield I have some leftover shipping materials. I posted a picture in my thread. Otherwise they will go out with recycling next couple of weeks.

1x of:

Wade playfield carton
Ron Webb backglass carton
CPR backglass carton for early SS BLY glass
Shay backglass carton this will fit those larger EM glasses and is filled with popcorn

Just got back from Bad Penny, theirs is playing great. I had a lot of fun on the pro. The activity in the middle of the playfield is really fun with all of those non mech slings bouncing the ball all over. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be!

#19981 10 months ago

Stagnation Nation! Another price drop and now I'm open to WI and MN trades, ok maybe SD and ND as well.

#19982 10 months ago
Quoted from Keylime:

I had a lot of fun on the pro. The activity in the middle of the playfield is really fun with all of those non mech slings bouncing the ball all over.

I got to try the one at Tilt, and I concur: the ball bounces laterally a heck of a lot thanks to those rubbers that flank the playfield on either side above the slings, effectively extending the sling action several inches higher up the playfield. This playfield has no late shots from either flipper, so Eddie just put those funky unassisted slings there instead and the effect is, well, some true batshirt sling action!

The audio on this machine is also top-notch, which had me thinking Tilt must have upgraded the speakers/amp. If it's truly stock, Stern has upped their game because it sounds great!

Thank you, Tilt, for driving all the way to Chicago to bring this game in ASAP!

Did anyone make it to 2d con?

I was responsible for the pinball area for the first time this year, and I'd say it was a success for quality over quantity. We had a few regulars not able to make it this year so we only had about 12 vs the 20-25 I've seen previously, but what Pinball Place brought out was great. Queen was popular, hoping I see that out on location some time soon otherwise I might have to make room for one at my house. The arcade side was also packed, with a mix of 80s and newer (and one so new they brought the garage prototype) games from here and Japan.

We ran a SIC leaderboard, and the tournament got 18 people, including 6 who have never played in a tournament before. Between the tournament and the panel I ran on how to get better at pinball, I'm hoping this event is going to make some new tournament players eventually.

Now that I have a full year to plan for next year as the new pinball / arcade lead, I'm trying to figure out how to make this more attractive to collectors, and how to grow the pinball area. I'd love to see this the size of Midwest Gaming Classic, hopefully we're trending that way as more people attend and see the potential, but are we missing anything that would make this more attractive to people here? Right now we offer a free VIP ticket per machine, and in the past we've offered an owners-only pinball tournament with some prizes. For those who go out to MGC / Chicago Expo / elsewhere, what makes you bring a pin?

Nice! I don't understand why more collectors aren't bringing a game or more to get free VIP... some haven't heard of 2d con? I mean we had a blast last year and plan to go this up coming year. What does VIP get?

We had a VIP badge line (skipping what was probably a half hour wait for regular badges), early access to the vendor hall and game area, and the VIP party this year was a three hour party with a two hour open bar.

I'd bring back the owner-only pinball tournament on Friday night if we had enough people bringing machines, and see if I can get some good prizes for it.

We get an entire evening to ourselves till I think was 2am, noone else allowed (people who brought pinball machines)for playing all the new machines that vendors brought and the ones collectors brought. So we got to play all the new stuff besides ours. Than they do trophy's as well for machines like best DMD, best 90s era etc.

51 years ago today we unlocked the doors for the first time at 3pm. First customer was two hours later, Mike McNeil, he got $2 worth of quarters. Reflecting back on all the people that were customers, many became friends, and sadly the ones who are no longer with us. I come to realize how lucky I am. Thank you all !

Regardless, there should be some pictures on his web site of the EM/ pong days. Without even looking I remember there being a World Series or grand slam. I’m not sure what year that was though.

You talking 2dcon or mgc? At 2dcon two years ago, it was dead at night so we played until 4am like the old mgc days. I played LoV for 3 days straight, it was amazing

4 Square, Grand Slam, Magic Carpet, Pro Football, Super Star, 2001, Jungle King.

Picture of the back wall Spring 1973 - http://ssbilliards.com/about.html

There was an operator then. My Mother bought the business with my help, she couldn't buy games. When I bought out her interests in the business in early 1979, I started buying my own games. First one was Pinball Pool. By October the operator was gone and all the games were mine. What I added at that time Williams Flash, The Incredible Hulk, Totem, Stellar Wars, maybe one or two more I don't remember.
