Happy New Year!

Quoted from EJS:

Happy new year. Plenty of fireworks going off here. I’m just downstairs playing pinball and rebuilding flippers.

Northeast Minneapolis was booming with fireworks, I love it. Happy New Year to all of you maniacs in Wisconsin and Minnesota!

I was playing "gunshots or fireworks" last night. Most sounded like fireworks. 1 event sounded like gunshots. Not a fan of this game.

I like WOZ and could see myself owning one, but I don't know what the difference between all of the versions are. I see the game go from ~6k-12k based on the edition; I swear I have seen like 17 different configurations on this game.

I hear ya. Plus, there’s the light board issue with some of the pins. I definitely would need to educate myself before buying a WOZ!

I think the Ruby red is the top of the line of WOZ. I had an ecle with nothing but light board issues, Then a routed standard that was much better.

Yeah, they released a standard edition and the Emerald City LE at the same time in early 2013. The 75th RR came out in later 2014 and finally the striped down Yellow Brick Road in May 2019. They had light board issues with their first 5.0v systems in 2013 then switched to a 7.5v system in late 2013 to 2014 (I think) and finally went back to a 5.0v system with their "2.0" boards (which is what made its way into The Hobbit and later machines). I believe they also had buffered and unbuffered versions of both 5.0 and 7.5 volt systems, but I'm not exactly sure of the details. It's all very confusing.

I’ll try to head over at a time that isn’t late night haha

Very tempting but still trying to avoid unnecessary travels if I can help it in case I pick up some of the rona at work :/

No joke, downtown is crazy busy in the evening. If you can swing it head over around midday during the week. All bars/restaurants are required to close at 10 PM due to the number of police calls lately. It is pretty amusing to count MN license plates vs. WI plates. Typically 10 to 1 for MN. I assumed it was from the American Pinball designer thread.

Anybody got a dk cocktail they wanna part with?

Nothing really that bad -- it appears a mod seems to have it out for him. Dude didn't say shit, but he has a reputation and got unfairly booted if its from the AP thread.

We don't know the whole story. He just got back from a 90 day suspension. We don't know if he was cautioned on what not to do on his return. And we don't know what interactions he may have had in private with mods or Robin.

You don't get a permanent ban for being booted unfairly from one thread.

I hope he makes amends and returns one day. He's a good part of the Wisconsin pinball scene.

Could of been both threads as all the discussion with Hilton and the mod was deleted from his podcast thread too

Anyone in Wisconsin have Pre-War pins they are selling? i have been looking around but haven't seen any for sale in WI since moving here.

I have a 1955 Williams Jolly Joker roll-down machine. Not quite a prewar pin, but some similarities, so may be of interest. Not really looking to sell, but it doesn’t get played much so the right offer could move it. Really cool little machine.

Good luck. With an intact coin door and no broken into damage. That will get some bidding action. Especially since its been on Facebook already.

It does look like an external lock was screwed onto the right side of the coin door. Broken glass. Looks clean inside. Pop bumper caps in great shape.

A little damage. The thing on the right is a wing you turn to keep the door closed. Used on storm windows.

We'll find out for sure at 2pm. It is looking good !

And I for one hope it's the last shutdown. I squeaked by and won't have to sell another machine.

Right you are. For me same right before the recent closing. Masks required, reduced occupancy, no pop or snacks after 10pm.

Happy days are here again !

What’s up with the auto-bid feature setting in that Kilroy auction?
Two bidders show a pattern of auto bidding immediately after a bid is placed.
Are there different settings/interfaces/options from a computer login vs. mobile login? I’m about priced out on it now (there’s only another 6000 of them out in the wild, I’d imagine);just wondering at this point.
I’m a huge anti-collusion kind of person; these auctions sometimes feel unfair.

#15600 1 year ago
Quoted from brobra:

Somebody bid their max higher than the current bid. So if someone bids higher than the current bid, then auto-bid steps in and places the bid, if it beats a bid placed.

Same with Ebay if you place a max bid.
