You must mean no pinball machines.
Galactic Battleground has a picture of their video game there on Facebook. Next to it a Raw Thrills cabinet.
So some arcade games remain.

Quoted from LTG:According to the Minnesota State Fair website it's still there - https://www.mnstatefair.org/vendor/21.1/
Did you mean gone and something else in there ? Or no pinball machines ? Or arcade games ? The picture looks like all redemption equipment.
LTG : )
How the heck did I miss that? I went to the fair Friday & last night, and been there so many times I can navigate it blindfolded. Of course, all redemption machines doesn't make for an arcade.
I miss the days when there was a LOT more space for arcade games, and they were doing retro arcades(some dating back to the 70s) before it was cool.
Quoted from s1500:Of course, all redemption machines doesn't make for an arcade.
THANK YOU!
My wife and I are convinced (sarcastically only) that casinos like MGM and Harrahs are parent companies to places like Chuck E Cheese and Gameworks. A bunch of these redemption machines are nothing more than gambling trainers for tikes.
NO SKILL INVOLVED. Pull a lever, get some tickets. Over in 5 seconds. How fun is that? It’s not, but, much like a slot machine, they are highly addictive (to the kids). The kids seem drawn by some lower level brain function that craves the reward of those tickets coming out of the machine.
Kudos to the people that figured this out and are making lots of money off of these. It’s just sad to see kids missing out on the fun of basic skill games.
Monday morning rant over.
Stopped by the "Pinball at the fair" arcade at the MN State Fair yesterday to check out deadpool. (It's in the arcade right next door to the butterfly house.) Thought the game shot great, agree there are some tight shots, but overall very satisfying. Only got to put one game in as we were heading for the exit for the day. Looking forward to next weekend so I can stop in again and hopefully get a few more games in. Initial impression is iron maiden over deadpool, but deadpool isn't a flop by any means.
Quoted from Phat_Jay:Any places to play pinball in the dells guys? Going down on Wednesday.
That old school arcade that has been there forever on the main drag has a Comet. Other than that it has a bunch of redemption games and other novelty games.
That was all I saw when we were there about a month ago. Knuckleheads used to have a Lord of the Rings for years and years that was absolutely thrashed. Not sure if it is still there now, but it wasn't worth playing even for free when I last played it.
Quoted from Phat_Jay:Any places to play pinball in the dells guys? Going down on Wednesday.
Moose jaw restaurant usually has a few newer games in the basement arcade.

I remember Moosejaw Pizza having at least 2. In the basement, with their redemption games.

They had a Hobbit and a Batman66 when I was there last year. Not sure what the current lineup is...
Quoted from Phat_Jay:Cool, thx! I’ll have to pop in and see....
Moose Jaw had Star Wars , and Hobbit when I was there in the spring.
Pin map also lists GB, which was there last year as well

I just went there tonight. They have three machines - a GB Pre, a SW LE, and a Hobbit. Unfortunately, the LCD on the SW LE is out, so the game is practically unplayable... The GB Pre is ok. The Hobbit looked fine, but it was $2/game or $5/3 games (compared to $2/3 games for the other two), which was too rich for my blood, so I passed.
Sadly, I put my $2 in the LE without realizing the LCD was out (wasn't paying attention), so I wasted some money -- I did get the hyperloop to go a couple of times, so that was cool...
Also sadly, I wasn't able to convince the family to drive down to Madison. :'(
Here's a thread that I resurrected before my trip.

Quoted from kevindrives:when is the party? when is the party?
Once the game is here, dependent on when Jack can make it.
I'm thinking a Sunday. Noon to 10pm or 4pm to 10pm. All four of my JJP pins on freeplay. Famous Dave's ribs around 6pm.
Obviously no hogging games.
As soon as I know I'll post it.

Tracking shows it arriving at the carrier on Thursday. So I'll pick it up Friday morning and bring it in.

As some of you know, the west side of Madison flooded out one week ago with torrential rains. This included Schwoegler's alley where we had 14 of our games. Thankfully none were damaged! Some great local guys (Ryan S, Mike W and Hilton J) were able to get them all moved on short notice since I was out of town. What a crew! Seriously can't thank them enough.
Although all 36 lanes are being replaced through mid-November, they're planning to reopen the bar with drinks and food on Sept 4 and have specifically requested to have the pinball machines back! What can I say...they like the pinball folks. Needless to say, we're happy to help them with what they need! There's a Deadpool launch party scheduled on 9/15 along with a regular monthly tourney that day as well. I know for a fact that all the support Schwoegler's can get through these tough times is greatly appreciated! I'll update again once games are back out there. In the meantime, here's a new story that was run on the local news.

I created a new topic for non WI/MN friends but we will be live "Twitchin" tonight at 8pm.
We are trying to get more regular with our streams but wanted to plug our now regular Tuesday evening stream with Coach Mike at 8pm CST.
Mike has played in a few tourneys in the MSP area and competed at Pinburgh this year.
If you have a few minutes to check it out we always appreciate the support up here on the plains.

Anyone going to that Pixeled Brewing Company place in Fargo when it opens? No pinball, but 60 arcade games. It's only 3.5 hours away from me, so I might do a road trip sometime.
My Pirates left Ohio terminal yesterday about 6:30pm heading to destination terminal here.
Getting closer.

Anyone have an early 80s Bally cabinet or a source for one?
Just need the cabinet for a project.

Going to pick up Pirates Of The Caribbean by Jersey Jack Pinball. I'll be open at noon if anyone wants to help set it up.

Quoted from trilogybeer:Awesome ! Going to check this place out next week .
I was there for an hour or two last Saturday, couldn't get on the machine.
Was there a couple of weeks ago, so don't know about potcle, but the rest are set for 5 balls per game. No replay, but can get an extra ball. 6 balls would be the same as two 3 ball games. Sweet. Thx Chris.

the Houdini was a dollar per play and 3 ball, the sterns where 3 for $2 with 5 ball play.

I’m going to go on a weeknight after work , I think it wouldn’t be as busy as a Saturday (but I could be wrong )

Quoted from kettchxxii:Since everyone is posting pictures, our Deadpool joined the lineup at the Blue Moon Bar, which just opened back up following our own flooding disaster. Ghostbusters should make it to Ale Asylum before our Craft Beer Pinball League meetup tomorrow as well!

Made out here last night (just got in from Champaign) and loved the setup! The IM is rocking! Is that just a shaker motor in there or do you have a sub in there as well? Completely sold my wife on the quality of that game. Hitting your shots on that are soooo satisfying, brought the whole game to another level.
Quoted from Whysnow:ACNC plus DEADPOOL now at Marias in Madison.
25 total games to play currently in one location.
Stop on out and say hi to Jack the awesme bar owner and have a cheap drink while u are there!

Just got into town, is Maria's still running that lineup? It's going to be hard to choose between TNA at Alt Brew and that huge range
Quoted from tbaum:Just got into town, is Maria's still running that lineup? It's going to be hard to choose between TNA at Alt Brew and that huge range
currently, yes
Play both
Alt Brew opens at 3pm today. Stop there for some TNA, a sample TZ (where else you gonna play a nice Sample on route ), plus some other rarities like a nice I500, Bally Atlantis.
Then head to Maria's at 6pm for some more fun with the full lineup (biggest in Madison and ONLY place to play both ACNC and DP plus big hitters like DI and WoZ)
I also suggest grabbing a beer at both locations to tell each bar thanks for supporting pinball. We love when the bar tenders hear you came for the pins and bought a beer

Oh we definitely make time for drinks
Alt Brew is solid as my wife can actually drink beers there (Gluten allergy).
Any interesting changes with DP code? I like the game, but it doesn't seem super deep yet, and that lock shot seems inconsistent.

Our lock shot is pretty dialed in. I think the nature of the shot is going to make it less consistent, but we have spent some time fine tuning already.
New code appears more balanced for the little DP multiball. Game has solid code out of the gate and very playable already. I am sure the depth will come as I believe in Tanio, but even now it is very fun to shoot and explore the new game. I personally would take ACNC for fun of exploring the game and a cool layout and the upper pf is about perfect as uppers go, but code is still early on that one (much improved from the spring and summer shows and you can see the path it is going, but I think we are a few more updates from the polish)

Yeah, that shot it reminds me a bit of the outer loop in IM. If done right it is very satisfying, but will need some tweaking (look forward to playing your version!). I like the callouts a ton, and the animations (when I'm looking up) are fun and are a great fit with the theme. Haven't played ACNC yet, but hope to mark that off by end of today

Awsome! So looking forward to playing it! Looks amazing!
Seeing It there makes me remember when I first played the Stern pirates of the Caribbean when it it was new and sitting in that same new game spot looking so good!

Made it out to Alt Brew and Maria's yesterday and my wife and I had a blast! The TNA is still amazingly fast (somebody finally knocked me off top spot there).
I'm not sure if it was just more time on the machine or how yours is set up, but I was finally able to hit that katana shot on Deadpool. I'm liking it the more I play it. Not sure it is in IM territory, but it is a very very solid game.
Thanks for having such a great collection and keeping everything in such good shape!
