Hey James it was great meeting the two of you also. Can't wait to see it on your game.

The first ever Pinball Event at the Mall of America is over and I am happy to say it was great success. Gameworks was very pleased with the turnout and they want to do more events like this in the future. On a personal level, it was great getting out for my first event of 2018 and seeing everyone again too. We had 46 people who showed up to take advantage of the fun. Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting the event, I hope you had a good time!
I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. Huge thanks to Gameworks for giving pinball another chance, hosting the event and being so generous with the food and prizes. Mariah H. Riley and everyone there were amazing hosts and the space is fantastic! Thanks to Kris Boettcher for getting pinball back in the Mall of America and Benjamin Franklin Granger for loaning his Iron Maiden to help make the event twice as nice. FYI...BOTH Iron Maidens now head to Caffetto's for Ben's Launch Party tomorrow, so be sure to check that out for more pinball, prizes and fun! Thank you to Deanna Gerard for helping out with running the event and a big thank you to others that donated prizes as well including Smaaash and Joe Gorka from Minnewaffolis! Games and good food are always appreciated!
Upcoming Events Reminder:

Wish I could have been there.
Quoted from MustangPaul:Wish I could have been there.
Gameworks wants to do more events, so there's a very good chance you get another shot Paul. You would like it. Really great space and the MOA Gameworks is very enthusiastic about pinball and supporting it. There's room for more games so I can see the lineup expanding out more too.

The problem is is that I have no free time, to many projects backed up that take all my spare time and once the Mustang comes back I'll REALLY have no spare time.

I am relatively new to this forum. Is there a place where events like this are posted in advance? Email lists, or anything like that? I only saw the post on this thread the day before. I would have really liked to attend, but by the time I found out about this event it was too late.

If you’re on Facebook, join the Minnesota - Pin Cities group and you’ll see announcements decently far in advance. I had considered to drop my FB account all together, but lately too much pinball activity to do so.

There's a tournament at Gameworks starting on Tuesday. It's for novices - I'm going to try to go, fingers crossed.

For Minnesota specifically, the best place as a whole to keep up on news, new games in the area and upcoming events our Facebook Group as PinZap mentioned. It's a totally open group, so feel free to post any questions you have there about anything pinball related and many people will be happy to help out.
If anyone wants to make the trip to Madison to double dip on tournaments, then get signed up now.
I believe the Burnin Down the House tourney has about 10 slots left (Garrett would need to confirm), so i think it will sell out.
Double dip with the Iron Maiden official Launch party.

Thanks for the replies guys. I got rid of Facebook over a year ago. But, there are obvious work-arounds for that. I'm guessing my wife will be following the Minnesota pinball group on her Facebook account soon.

Yup, same hahahhaha
Facebook sucks , I really wish there was some sort of site dedicated to pinball where people could share pinball event info , tech info , restoration info ....
.etc......

rec.games.pinball?
GBLE cabinet looking for a good home.
So I love my T2. It was my first game and I have played the crap out of it. Now that I've got a few more pins I find I don't play it as much. I probably should put it up for sale to make some room, but I sorta feel like I'm breaking up with my high school sweetheart. If anybody out there is looking for a T2 in fantastic shape (and promises to treat her right!) PM me.
I played Tommy at a friends house with the upgraded soundtrack and man do I want that game! Anybody selling?
Quoted from Mplspinhead:I set up a dummy account of Facebook just for pinball. First name Pin last name Head.
That's you? I think I ignored your Minnesota Pinball group request because the account was blank. Try submitting it again and I will accept it.

Ha! maybe that wasn't such a good idea after all. I deleted my original FB account. I'm also the guy that deleted my other Pinside account "Pindocmn" because every time I logged in I'd write Pindic instead of Pindoc and I was giving myself a complex.
Quoted from lordloss:I'm not familiar with older Bally, anyone have a vague price estimate for playboy?
From what I can see, and assuming it works, 1200? Maybe a bit more pending condition.

It would be worth more if you photographed it with a bulldog.....

Haha, that game is forever tainted for me.
I think of that thread every time I see one.
Quoted from CaptainNeo:1200 seems about right, depending on cabinet condition. Boots up and plays?
Powers on, no play. Guy got quoted $$ to have someone come out and try to fix it and hasn't done anything with it in a couple years.
Quoted from northvibe:Hey I’m looking for a south park pinball if anyone has one for sale or Knows of one!
A coworker of mine caught the pinball bug last year, after playing games at my house. Not having any knowledge about games, I recommended he buy at Pinball Warehouse up in Fridley, since I knew it would likely be in great shape. He ended up buying a gorgeous South park, but he paid retail for it (I think $3100 or $3200). He now wants to sell the South Park and get a Metallica Pro (his wife is allowing only 1 game in the house...). I'd be happy to put you in contact with him. I'm actually tempted to buy it myself, even though it's really expensive for a SP. It is all LED, blade art, lots of figure mods, topper, shopped out, etc. I may sell my Doctor Who soon to raise cash for this one.
Anyway, I wanted to throw it out there that I know of a very nice SP that is available anytime. I just know he won't sell it for less than he paid.

i'd head more towards $600-800 range then, because you don't know how trashed those boards are, if any of the displays are good. If the transformer is good. Which coils work.
I HAD an unsold (was sold and something came up) houdini coming in tomorrow. $6995 plus shipping (and any applicable sale's tax).
Let me know.
This is spoken for.
Wanted:
Mirror blades to fit modern Stern here in the Twin Cities Metro area.
I'm happy to drive, say, 45 minutes in any direction from Minneapolis to get them.
Thanks.

Hey Jason, add the TWDLE to your collection you should be proud of that acquisition. Sweet game! I'm counting on you to figure out the multi-kill logic and explain it to me before I setup my premium in the barcade.
Somebody should offer a week long course on some of these titles. The course could be taught at a local recreation center. The attendees will be required to wear head bands to make it seem like we are there to do something physical. At the end of the course everyone that passes the final exam (this will likely involve drinking beer and playing pinball) will be issued an official plaque certifying them as an official pinball specialist. That would be badass!

i am interested in trading a players condition fish tales and/or a really nice Dr. Who...most interested in met, twd and iron maiden, less so iron man and spiderman...would consider a two for one.
Time to refresh lineup....I have a nice players JP and cash to trade in the Minneapolis area (about 30 miles west of Mpls). Cab in nice shape, some LEDs, no mods except replaced dinosaur egg with TZ powerball. Running (unofficial) 6.0 rom which is great. Have a few pics, sorry about the poor lighting, but can get more if there is something you want close-ups of. Everything works as it should.
Spider-man VE at the top of wish list, but consider other top 50 titles. Not looking for TAF, DW, AC/DC, XM, STTNG, TZ, Simpsons at this time.
Let me know what's available...willing to drive a few hours or more for right pin. Thanks

That looks like a really clean game from what I can see. GLWS
In the market, if anybody has something not too far from Sioux Falls, for a new game in the sub-$1500 range.
Looking at something like a System-11 WMS, or a sci-fi themed classic Bally/Stern.

I came across this thread about pinball in Madison that was only five years ago:

What a change in five years! Thanks WhySnow and everyone else (sorry I don't know who you are) that helped make such a dramatic difference in location pinball for Madison.

thanks!
The other guys in Madison Pinball are U2Sean (sean) and BigDaddyBanjo (garrett)
Both great guys! The 3 of us are collectively Madison Pinball.
Even more amazing to me is that just 4 years ago we had one location with only 4 games.
There are now 4 (soon to be 5 locations) with currently 35+ games (soon to be almost 50).
The majority of the games are still from our private collections that we put out. Some are games we have bought over the past 5 years.
In case you have not heard, we are supplying a bunch of pinball for I/O gaming bar, which is a new arcade/pinball/gaming bar that is opening down on Willy st later this summer. We are super excited to be partnering with the owner and are working on a bunch of new games that we will be bringing in there. Gonna be a really fun spot!
Side note: Did Quy ever come over to help with your TAF or did you still need a hand?
