What?! Selling a game??? Have anything else in mind?

that's a cocktail table. It's a table, that's what it's for.

Just wanted to introduce myself, I played a lot of pinbal in HS, but just started playing again. Dropped a lot of quarters recently at SS Billiards, but wanted some advice on a good place/tournament to meet people and talk about the games. I'm not very good, and the new games confuse me somewhat, but I enjoy playing. Also looking to buy a game (Taxi?) if anyone has one for sale.

Hee-hee, NO!

I regret it each time. Meteor is alot like Stars, though. I guess I don't need both. A friend keeps telling me that you can't have them all. Dammit, he's kinda right...

Hi Mike, if you are on Facebook you should join the MN Pinball Group. Over 550 like minded people and it's a great way to network to buy and sell games and to find out about upcoming events as well.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/minnesotapinball/

Also, you should check out pinballmap.com if you haven't already. It's a great resource for finding specific pinball machines, places to play or even pinball locations that are close to you wherever you are at the time via GPS.

bah, that's tempered, it can handle it. Now if you ting the side of the glass, that's a different story.

Road trip! Me and 3 friends (Tallon, Rusty lizard & Forty two) are heading to Minneapolis for some pinball fun next Monday (1-15-18). One stop will be Tilt Bar early afternoon (12:30,1pm?)
Come on over if you wish to hang out & play some pins.
Note I will be pulling out the Pinball Mayhem camera from time to time to document our trip & get some gameplay footage too.
See you there?
Jeremy

We had a great time in the Twin Cities! The food was excellent at Mickey's Dining Car, at SS Billiards the games were super clean and Prada with Lloyd were the best hosts (thanks for opening up early Lloyd), my first visit to Tilt Bar was great - got to play Star Wars & Guardians (a first for me) and it was great to meet fanuminski

Oh and I got enough footage for at least 3 videos. A great day!

I literally work a block away from there!

Did you check out the ice castle they're building in Rice Park? (it's about 3 blocks from Mickey's). It's pretty cool looking so far.

Glad you had a great time in the Twin Cities!

I finally made it to SS Billiards myself. Met Lloyd and played his original Big Bang Bar (one of 12 made?) That guy has been around the block a few times when it comes to pinball.

#10717 6 years ago

I've found a new home for Centaur II, any interest in a Paragon (1400) or Ted Nugent (1650) to a local MN pin head? Trade interests would be Slugfest, Skateball, Super Chexx, Ghostbusters, but I'm trying to make room for diversifying the game room a bit.

A non-working $1000 Police Force went that fast and in the middle of a blizzard to boot? Wow, I'm surprised. I didn't think it a working Police Force was hardly worth $1000.

Yeah, I knew a few people having hard times moving working ones at 1k-1200 a year or so ago.... However it seems 50% of the market jumped up...while all the games we each want to sell didn't go along on the price hike

#10726 6 years ago

My brother knows the guy that sold it. He had been chatting with me the last couple days about price and stuff and if I was interested in it. Originally he was thinking it might go for 2400-2800 to which I chuckled. It went to a local operator from the northern suburbs I guess. That surprised me since I told him he'd be lucky to get $500 for a non-working one. I guess he got it from his brother or something and just wanted it gone for a fair price. He didn't have the keys for the backglass but my brother was just leaving when the guy showed up. I told them to drill the lock and check the boards and stuff to try and get it running. There was a bit of board damage but fresh batteries so my guess is a power supply issue or something which must not have bothered whoever grabbed it.

“Free” game on Facebook. I messaged her immediately and a bidding war had already started. She said if I’d pay $150 I could have it. I said absolutely and 10 minutes later she emailed that someone offered $200 and what’s my best offer. I told her thanks, but no thanks. FYI in case anyone here wants a non-working Raven.

I almost wonder if they wanted a bidding war before listing.

That's my guess. Rarely do people offer up a pinball machine for free. I would of grabbed it for free, and I have no room....

I've seen that Raven before. I remember it because of the beer mirror and the sub underneath it. I believe they had it for sale in one of the Facebook groups or something and obviously didn't get what they wanted for it. Probably posted it for free so they could figure out how much the most they could get for it would be.

#10732 6 years ago

Someone forwarded me this last night and I was disappointed that I wasn't quick enough to get the "free" game. Makes me feel better to know this was bs.

more like $800, but we just gave one away at our Dec end of year tournament.

It went to someone that previous did not own a game. It was pretty cool to see the look on his face when he won!

I have a routed Shadow and routed Nascar that we are looking to sell. Both are definitely NOT collectors but both play just fine and were decent earners.

Both machines have Leds. Nascar has mirror blades and a few extra cars added.

Shadow has the Alternate Art Package, a rebuilt upper playfield kicker assembly with new parts, and a Color DMD. Original art is included.

Nascar has a rough ramp and playfield wear but otherwise ok.

Shadow has a cracked mini playfield surround, a couple cracked plastics, back ramp was jb welded, outlane wear, a mark on the playfield on the taxi, but otherwise ok. Shadow also has a sound interface error, but the sounds work fine and have not been an issue.

Again these are routed machines.

Shadow - $2500
Nascar - $2300

Both - $4500

No trades this time and cash on pickup in Fargo, ND

Feel free to PM me with any questions or interest.

Newbie question, what does “routed” mean. Thanks

#10740 6 years ago
Quoted from ChrisPINk25:

Newbie question, what does “routed” mean. Thanks

means the game was on location at some point.

95% of ALL games before ~2006 were on location at some point (despite what many claim to be HUO).
Since pinball owning in private collections has grown, you will find more titles that really are HUO.

Worth note that routed and HUO are largely meaningless. Condition is what matters. I have seen plenty of HUO games in much worse condition that routed ones. I have also seen plenty of games on route that are clean and maintained with pride.

#10741 6 years ago

In case anyone was wondering: the strange science at a moving or estate sale in Minnetonka is a routed, very used example. They're asking 2k as of Friday am...
Too much.

#10742 6 years ago

Oh, and, it's not working. Topper doesn't light up, lockdown bar is roached, and the playfield is dirty and worn...

The pf might just clean up with some elbow grease and Novis but 2k is to much, 1k is in the ball park.

#10744 6 years ago

oddly, that era of Bally lockdown bars is always like that. I wonder what changed in that era.

I have a HUO BW100 and the bar still has minor rust on the hand spots.

Two of Wisconsin’s finest exports were in the RD Apartment today.

A spooky pin and old mates ChrisS !

Chris was nice enough to pop around and talk music, touring and pinball for a few hours before he pulled out of town.

Good stuff!
