Clearly I am meant to clip it onto a 16 pin IC and watch the activity.
I am curious which subsection of the mpu this would make sense in? Address lines, lamps, switches?

    Anybody have any ideas?PXL_20210327_015554782.MP (resized).jpgPXL_20210327_015554782.MP (resized).jpg

    Quoted from G-P-E:

Looks like it's just a generic signal monitor for 16 pin DIPs, probably not specific to any particular IC.
Steve was a great guy that had a wealth of knowledge for Gottliebs.

I'll have to try it out in a few scenarios limited by the few 16 pin chips on the boards

    Quoted from ChrisHibler:

I've seen Steve Charland use that Cheddar while I stayed with him for several days. He was a good friend.
He used it to see if the gates on the 7400 and 7404 chips in the 80 switch matrix were working.
He could recognize the pattern of LEDs.
I would LOVE to own that piece of Steve Charland memorabilia if you wouldn't mind parting with it. I always wondered what happened to his stuff. I assumed that family friends or pin friends helped his wife find a home for them.
    Take care,
    Chris Hibler

Chris I will give it to you if you will take a look at the MA-55 out of my force 2 and not judge my work on it to harshly

I bought a box full of wiring harnesses from the Charland family after Steve passed and this was in the box.
